Have dried and bucked down flower, that only has some leftover long sugar leaves on it, and it has been jar curing over a week.
I contemplated the difference in quality of bud that sits fully trimmed in a jar, vs. untrimmed bud sitting in a jar curing.
I normally would’ve fully trimmed before cure, but got lazy on my last round; Coincidentally, a host on “The Cannabis Hour” (local radio KMUD) mentioned last-minute (before use/sale) trimming to preserve moisture and flavor.
I already anticipate the arguments, but I’d like to know peoples’ anecdotal preferences.
I think that if a cure jar is only partially (not even mostly) full, it probably helps to have the buffer of sugar leaves keeping moisture and terpenes in, but could also see the sugar leaves possibly diluting the flavor of pure sticky goodness.
Thoughts?

Leaves have extra chlorophyll from what iv read. And from what iv done. Leaving extra leaves that have that dark color. Not light and white. Leave a green smell after weeks.
I try to separate dense covered leaves vs lightly. But I try to get them all. Leaves really wreck a bud imo Taste aweful

I let them sit for a bit and so far tastes and smells good, but I think I am going to start trimming away at it, when I have time, just to be done with it.

I don’t think it should matter for curing except maybe having a little more gas exchange going on from the extra chlorophyll.

but aside from that it’s just like dry trim bud.
