Ive got problems

Last thursday (4 days ago) i started germinating my seeds. 10 durban poison, 10 early misty, 10 white widow, and 10 new purple power. I put all 10 of each strain seed 4 differnt moist paper towels, folded it over, then put all 4 moist paper towels in separte plastic bags, and left them open. then i wrapped each bag in an old shirt and sat it on a heating pad. Ive been checking them every day and here are the results:

Early misty: 8 out of 10 have cracked; about 2mm-5mm of tap root is showing
Durban Poiston: 1 out of 10 has cracked; about 1mm of tap root showing
White Widow: 4 out of 10 have cracked, about 2mm to 5mm tap root
New Purple Power: 7 out of 10 have cracked, about 2mm tap root showing on some, about 5mm on others.

Whats the deal? I see all these picture of mj germinated seeds and the tap root is like a good inch long over night. Am i doing anything wrong? I cant understand it. Time to plant is here and theyre just not germinating. Would there be a problem just planting them anyway just with most cracked open, or should i germinate them longer?

I just put them between paper towels in a plastic tray/dish.Keep them very wet and mine usually are ready within 24 to 48 hours. I don't use a baggy. And wrapping the baggy in a shirt isn't a good idea.Mine just sit on top of the cup board its not dark there either. I have had good luck.

heating pads are dangerous, it's sooo easy to fry those little seeds, i lost many in the past and don't use them anymore, but the age of the seed and the strain can make a big difference, many f1 hybrids show lots of "vigour" compared to f2's that are commonly sold by discount seed companys like nirvana, for instance, i had inch long tap roots after 4-5 days with my 3 year old white rhino seeds this year, then got the same results if not better in 2 days with the fresh roadtrip seeds i just germed, used the same heat and method, just different seeds, give them time, and plant when tap root is between 1/4 in to 1/2 inch if you can help it. and always use a baggie, this will go great lengths twords ensuring your paper towel doesn't dry out early.

i checked them out again, and although the heating pad was only on the lowest setting, all the time they spent there deffinetly burnt some of them a little bit. im just going to plant them with the seeds cracked and hope for the best. maybe get at least 20 plants out of the 40 seeds. i dont know what else to do ive been waiting for this time to come for 10 months and now im fucked.

Your making to much work for yourself. I haven't been growing for long, but all I did was put about 10 seeds in a paper towel, flip the paper towel over em and shwallop. Even the schwag practice seeds did fine just sitting on the counter in the towel. They shouldn't need heat or even light, plants need light and heat, seed need pretty much just water for 2-3 days.

Yeah, I 've never used the pad either and had good results, try to leave them wet and see what happens in next couple of days...Thats alot of money lost, so try to push the envelop.
