5th degree in MN is the lowest felony level. I'm assuming they will drop it to gross misdameanor. I wasn't even charged with "intent to sell". I woulda/shoulda waited til it's legal here, it was passed this year but the Gov. vetoed it. He wants to run for Pres and was worried how that would look to conservatives.

Never ceases to amaze me the things people say. Most people who smoke pot talk about Karma, and about peace and love and unity etc. etc., and then in the same breath suggest you go beat the crap out of somebody or burn somebody's building down because you got busted for breaking the law. We're all responsible for our own actions and we have NOBODY to blame but ourselves when we do something we KNOW is illegal and we get busted. Obviously none of us here agree that pot should be outlawed, it's absurd, but it IS the law in most states and most countries, and often times the penalties and ramifications are severe. Suck it up and deal with the consequences whatever they may be (obviously get a good lawyer), and if you believe strongly enough that MJ should be legalized then devote your life to changing the laws. 95% of the people that smoke bitch and moan about it being illegal but do nothing seriously constructive to change anything.

I'm sorry to hear about you getting busted and all of the aftermath that followed, that really sucks and we all feel for you, but someday in the not too distant future (at least in most countries and states) it will be a thing of the past just like prohibition. In the meantime, hopefully someone else will learn a lesson from this. NEVER tell anybody that you're growing, be aware of the consequences for growing or even possession in your state/country, and make sure you're willing to deal with those consequences if you do happen to get caught. If you're not, DON'T DO IT, and if you do get caught for whatever reason, blame nobody but yourself.

Good luck to you man, things will get better, and they can always be worse. Believe me, I know this better than just about anybody.
i would agree with the first paragraph if the op had directly incriminated himself. he incriminated himself indirectly by telling a drunk, which is ALL kinds of stupid and just makes the whole thing fucked up. that guy ratting on the op goes well beyond the realm of legality. it's a matter of decency and respect, two issues better enforced by individuals rather than the law. the law is for the law. enforcing social/friendly contracts is an ENTIRELY different story.

Well I got that job. Fill out paperwork and take physical tomorrow. Start Monday. It's about $3/hr less than my old job, but its a start. I can finally start putting my life back together.

As far as kicking his azz or whatever... It wouldn't do me any good. It wouldn't take the charges away, get my old job back, get my money back, give me a place to stay, or get my plants back. It would just further the pain in this family (narc was GF's brother-in-law) and risk getting caught. I'm sure the judge would not like a "drug dealer" beating on a "helpful civilian".

One reason I tell no one.. no matter how much I trust them cept for my wife. Good luck brother..
I didn't even tell my wife I was growing outside. I love and trust her completely, but there is no reason for her to know. Not to heap any criticism at Axel, as he knows now that he should not have told anyone, but I live by Ben Franklin's statement:

"Three people can keep a secret if two of them are dead."

I satisfy my urge to proudly show my plants by coming here and telling you folks under my internet pseudonym. Even that is not completely safe as the federal .gov could easily track this post back to me if they so desired. If that is being considered I should tell the .gov person reading this that everything I have ever said on this site is complete bullshit. :)

Dude, that blows! I live in Nor Cal & Everyone grows around here. Sorry that shit Happend. Im Packing a bowl in the Bub for you.

sorry to hear about your rough times. i assume you did this in a non-friendly mj state? ie no state card?

that really sucks. it was had for me especially when i first started i had this intense urge to tell anyone and everyone...of course i didnt tell anyone.

my system has worked well. i dont speak to ANYONE about what im doing other than those directly involved...which is next to no one. its hard (in my opinion) to grow without telling anyone (unless you live completely alone and dont ever have people over etc)

I NEVER have people over. ever. i keep it low key as its not even at my house (and im doing it legally!)

its one thing to be a bitch and snitch when you get caught but its on a whole other level to just pick up the phone; call the cops and say, "so-and-so is growing weed @ this address". thats a bitch move.

smack him in his mouth.

wait til the drunk goes out to get drunk and phone in a dui in progress......karma really can be a bitch.
this works too. better yet find out where he is & what his car/plate number is...dui's generally cost like $15-$20K in the end i've heard...so that should fukk him up pretty good.
