It's NOT A MISDEMEANOR!!

Governor Schwarzenegger, in his final hours of legislative authority, has signed SB 1449. This reduces simple possession of one ounce or less of cannabis from a misdemeanor to an infraction. The maximum fine remains $100. This is great news for pot smokers throughout the state!

basically if you get caught with an ounce or less you get a $100 fine but no arrest/prosecution/criminal record etc
