Little Rock nightclub shooting: US Marshals arrest rapper, second suspect in Alabama

A Memphis rapper was taken into custody early Sunday in Alabama along with a second suspect in connection with the shooting at an Arkansas nightclub that left 28 people injured, the U.S. Marshals Service confirmed to Fox News.

Ricky Hampton, also know as Finese2Tymes, along with another suspect was arrested outside of Side Effects Club in Birmingham, Alabama, FOX 6 News reported.

U.S. Marshals, along with the ATF and FBI apprehended Hampton and the other male, according to Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Cliff LaBarge. Both are currently being held at the Jefferson County jail.

Twenty-five people between the ages of 16 and 35 suffered gunshot wounds at the Power Ultra Lounge in downtown Little Rock at Power Ultra Lounge early Saturday, officials said.

Three others were hurt, perhaps while fleeing, Little Rock Police Chief Kenton Buckner said. Two people were in critical condition Saturday afternoon.

Courtney Swanigan, 23, told The Associated Press that when the gunfire rang out, "I just closed my eyes, got down on the ground and put my hands on my head."

Frankie Bledsaw told FOX 16 he drove from Stoddard, Arkansas, to Little Rock with his brother and a few friends for the concert.

He said he didn’t know what sparked the dispute, but shortly after the concert began shots rang out.

“Everything was good, that’s why I don’t understand,” he said. “I mean, crowd was in a good mood. Just senseless really. Come out to have a good time and this what happens.”

Bledsaw said his first instinct was to run but as the gunfire continued and the club erupted into chaos, he hit the ground.

“Took about 10 minutes to get up out of there,” he said, later adding that it was a “blessing” that no one died. He was able to walk away with a minor bruises and scratches.

City officials said they would move Monday to shut down the club under a "criminal abatement" program. State regulators suspended the club's liquor license earlier Saturday.

(CNN)The gunman who killed a doctor and wounded six other people at a New York hospital was looking for a physician he blamed for his resignation from the facility, but that person wasn't there, law enforcement sources said on condition of anonymity Saturday.

And the slain doctor, Tracy Sin Yee Tam, 32, was on Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center's 17th floor Friday afternoon only because she was covering for a colleague who needed time off, a hospital official said.

"Yesterday she was asked to cover one of the physicians who was out, and so she was on that floor at that time," Dr. Sridhar Chilimuri, the hospital's physician in chief, told reporters Saturday.

The gunman, who police say killed himself after the shooting spree, was Dr. Henry Bello, a former Bronx-Lebanon physician, two law enforcement officials said.

The shooter was a "disgruntled" ex-employee who worked there from August 2014 to February 2015 and resigned before he was to be fired, hospital spokesman Errol Schneer said.

Remember when you blamed a black man for doubling the national debt, even though he didn't? It's almost like you think it's ok to tell lies about black people, and never apologize or redact false statements.

Boy Seriously Hurt in DUI Crash Involving Illegal Immigrant Deported 15 Times

A six-year-old California boy was seriously injured by a suspected drunk driver who was previously deported back to Mexico 15 times.

The boy, Lennox Lake, sustained a fractured skull, which required two surgeries.

His parents sustained minor injuries when a truck ran a stop sign and slammed into the car's driver's side, where Lennox's car seat was positioned.

Lennox remains hospitalized but he is improving and doctors are hopeful he can make a full recovery.

His father, Benjamin Lake, said on "Fox & Friends" this morning that the family was returning home from a trip to Disneyland last week when their vehicle was struck.

The suspect's blood-alcohol level was reportedly twice the legal limit. He fled the scene, but was taken into custody shortly thereafter.

Constantino Banda-Acosta, 38, and his passenger at the time were both in the U.S. illegally, ICE said.

ICE agents say Banda-Acosta, a Mexican citizen, was deported 15 times since 2002, including most recently in January.

"Just seeing Lennox lifeless in my wife's arms was heartbreaking," Lake told Ainsley Earhardt, explaining that he was previously "indifferent" about the impact of criminal aliens in the United States.

"I don't feel like this guy represents all illegals. But I feel like the ones with a criminal record, who have done bad things and have previously been deported, they shouldn't be finding ways back into the country," said Lake, adding that not much can be done for the family to seek "re-compensation" from the suspect.

Lake said there is a "systemic problem" right now that goes beyond Democrats or Republicans.

A GoFundMe page to help the family with medical bills has quickly raised more than $40,000 and counting.

Only obama would act this way! Especially on the day we celebrate the birth of our nation!

Obama warns Americans about too much patriotism — on July 4th weekend!

JULY 2, 2017
BY KYLE OLSON

While most Americans are gathering with family and community this weekend to celebrate the most exceptional country in the history of the world, Mr. Hope and Change is halfway around the world talking doom and gloom — and criticizing his successor.

Barack Obama visited Indonesia this weekend, and in a series of appearances, attacked love of country and the policies of Donald Trump.

The Guardian reports:

The former US president said some countries had adopted “an aggressive kind of nationalism” and “increased resentment of minority groups”, in a speech in Indonesia on Saturday that could be seen as a commentary on the US as well as Indonesia.

“It’s been clear for a while that the world is at a crossroads. At an inflection point,” Obama said, telling a Jakarta crowd stories of how much the capital had improved since he lived there as a child.

But he said that increased prosperity had been accompanied by new global problems, adding that as the world confronts issues ranging from inequality to terrorism, some countries – both developed and less developed – had adopted a more aggressive and isolationist stance.

“If we don’t stand up for tolerance and moderation and respect for others, if we begin to doubt ourselves and all that we have accomplished, then much of the progress that we have made will not continue,” he said.

“What we will see is more and more people arguing against democracy, we will see more and more people who are looking to restrict freedom of the press, and we’ll see more intolerance, more tribal divisions, more ethnic divisions, and religious divisions and more violence,” Obama asserted.

While former presidents rarely criticize their successors at home, Obama took the unusual step of going to a foreign country to do it.

Via Bloomberg:

Former U.S. President Barack Obama has pointed to the importance of the Paris climate accord while criticizing Donald Trump for pulling the world’s biggest economy out of the pact.

Trump said last month he would withdraw from the pact and seek to negotiate a better deal, in a move that attracted widespread criticism from counterparts in Europe and elsewhere. The decision by Trump to walk away from the 2015 agreement was also criticized by business leaders, with some describing it as a setback for the environment.

“In Paris, we came together around the most ambitious agreement in history to fight climate change,” Obama said Saturday in a speech at the opening of the Fourth Congress of the Indonesian Diaspora in Jakarta. He said it was “an agreement that even with the temporary absence of American leadership will still give our children a fighting chance.”

“The challenges of our times, whether it’s economic inequality, changing climate, terrorism, mass migration; these are really challenges and we’re going to have to confront them together,” he said.

On the very same day and in sharp contrast, President Trump boasted about America and saluted veterans during the “Celebrate Freedom Rally” in Washington, D.C.

Fox News reports:

“America is a land rich with heroes,” said Trump at the event, which included wounded warriors who are patients at the Walter Reed Medical Center.

During his speech, the president personally saluted World War II veteran Harry Miller for his lifelong service and wounded warrior Luis Avila. Miller enlisted in the reserves at 15, even though he was not old enough to serve. He fought in Europe and in The Battle of the Bulge. Avila, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, was on a fifth deployment when he was wounded, losing his leg, during an intelligence reconnaissance mission.

“We all bleed the same red blood,” said Trump, promising an adoring crowd that America would “win again.”

“Since the signing of the Declaration of Independence 241 years ago, America always affirmed that liberty comes from our Creator. Our rights are given to us by God, and no earthly force can ever take those rights away. That is why my administration is transferring power out of Washington and returning that power back where it belongs — to the people,” Trump said.

“Our religious liberty is enshrined in the very first amendment in the Bill of Rights. The American founders invoked our creator four times in the Declaration of Independence,” the president said. “Benjamin Franklin reminded his colleagues at the Constitutional Convention to begin by bowing their heads in prayer. Inscribed on our currency are the words: ‘In God We Trust.’”
