so your brother had a prior of some sort that was even worse than assault, then he goes out and assaults someone, making him a repeat violent offender, and you are surprised when they put him in prison for a lengthy amount of time?

jesusfuck. the more you speak, the more white trash comes out.
A bit when it was a 17 year old kid that never been to prison before.

Tell me why is it so surprising black people are in prison. Did they not commit a crime?

All of that sounds lovely until we start discussing sentencing disparities.
Let's be honest. Yes, those that lengthened the sentence for crack may have been targeting minorities.

Who choses to make coke into crack? Are those people aware if the lengthy sentence that comes with it?

How many times you been to jail?

I've been a fe times. Sat through court many of times.

Yes, there may be a disparity.

The honest truth is, its not so much about skin color. Its about money. No matter your color, you're fucked if you don't have money.

People of color represent 60% of people in cages, yet less than 30% of the population (Black, Latino). One in eight black men in their twenties are locked up on any given day. 75% of people in state prison for drug conviction are people of color although blacks and whites see and use drugs at roughly the same rate. In NYS, 94% of those imprisoned for a drug offense are people of color.

Prosecutors and judges get elected. The D.A. in the Duke La Cross rape case knew they were innocent but was pandering to losers in this country.

Any bets on the ethnicities of the majority of those being railroaded? I'm willing to bet that the majority could easily be described as something other than "white".
I'm not too sure, because the only kid specifically mentioned in the article was white, and the place (Wilkes-Barre) is like 92%+ white. I'm sure there were proportionally more non-whites affected than in the general population, as with most incarceration in the US, but I would highly doubt that the majority were anything other than white. This isn't about racism, it's about abuse of power.

Abuse of power and racism are not mutually exclusive. In many cases, abuse of power is the act of racism itself.

Ok, then prove that this judge targeted "POC" more than white people. Because so far I have offered evidence and you have offered assumptions.

Drug use has little to do with federal prison drug sales is what the DEA wants. Latinos bring majority of the drugs in that the CIA don't.

So can you show us black people getting locked up more or equal to Latinos for drug charges?

Or do you just add Latinos and blacks together so you can cry about the white man more?

One thing I noticed about white people though is they seem more likely to rat than Latinos. Can't say much about blacks though I don't know enough. But white people being more likely to rat than Latinos shows just why the Latinos white dealers use are more likely to go to prison.

I don't think it's so much as racist the DEA wants the middle man and you don't fuck with the Hell's Angel's.

Figures. After all, it's the American way.
Its fucked all the way round. Its corrupt.

The goal should be restitution and rehabilitation.

Sticking a person in a hole and breaking them doesn't help anyone.

Not only should the victim be made whole, the person that did the crime needs to be able to come out and be a contribution to society.

Its not just black people, I've dealt with the corrupt system.

They prey on the weak and poor. Easy convictions.
Excellent point about restitution. Thank you.

assault is not a minor crime. apparently you come from an entire family of scumbag whites.

Do you think your propensity for shitting on floors was learned behavior or genetic ?

I'm just curious, so if it's inconvenient please don't let me derail your rude and bigoted tirade.

yeah but white people aren't really selling dope on the streets in neighborhoods where it's a known drug market where the police can roll up on ya. I also don't know of any "white" areas that have gun crime in the amounts that you find in those same neighborhoods. Idk it seems there are reasons that aren't based on race that would explain minority incarceration rates. I think if you look at income it would be more likely to show fair reasons on why certain people get locked up. Poor whites are getting caught up all the time too. another reason people from impovershed areas get locked up at higher rates is they don't have access(money) to get decent lawyers. Even if telling the truth you have zero credibility in court if you don't have an attorney and a pd sure as hell aint going out of there way to help(do their job) anyone.

Interesting. Now I have to wonder where little Kaitlyn is getting her fix from. Oh, that's right, she gets it from Tanner over behind the jungle gym. You see, I graduated from a predominantly white high school in a class of about 550 students and only about 37 of us were black (my grandfather actually counted). So I'm really not going for the whole "white people don't sell drugs" thing. Of course they do. The difference occurs when they get caught, it's usually just a slap on the wrist and a little family embarrassment. While the black kids get sent away. I've seen it happen to friends, both black and white. White friends went off to college. Black friends went off to jail. That's American justice in its full glory.
