Iso Hash Guide 2011

ISO Hash
Gather:
•1oz schwag and stems
•1 glass jar with lid
•1 cup or a second jar
•91% Isopropyl alcohol
•coffee filter
•flat plate
•razor blade
Instructions:
1) Place all ground up schwag inside the jar.
2) Pour 3/4ths cup 91% Isopropyl alcohol into jar with all the schwag, and shake vigorously for about 20 minutes.
3) Open the shaken jar, and poor everything onto the coffee filtered jar/cup. All the liquid will drip through the filter. .
4) Throw away the filter and plant matter. What you are left with is a greenish yellow liquid. Poor all the liquid onto a flat plate (with edges, not to overflow),and let it sit. You should give it a few hours, but to speed the drying/evaporation process up, you can place the plate near a fan.
5) Once finished, your plate will be left with a resinous surface. Take your razor blade and scrape it all off. There's your ISO Hash. Iso Hash is most potent when vaporized or eaten.

whats the pros/cons of shaking more or less? ive heard everything from 30 seconds to 20 minutes now. has anyone taken an ounce, and done this with 8 seperate jars, each with an 8th in them? then each jar would be shaken for different times. since its the same strain and same amount of nugs, im pretty sure the time is the only variable. someone should try this

Here's an easy way Too do iso that I kinda like,hope this helps someone.

Pic one is the stuff.
pic two is laying the piece of 120 silkscreen in the bowl,make sure no plant material slops through into the bowl .
pic three is the plant material dried out and broken down somewhat,just crumbled by hand is all.Not trying to make it into powder as that will get through the screen.
pic four is how much material goes into the jar.
pic five is how much iso I put in the jar.
pic six is the jar dumped into the bowl after shaking vigorously for 45 seconds,I use a watch.
I kinda swoosh the screen around in the iso with the material submerged for a couple secs to let the trichs settle through the screen a bit.Then wad it all up and squeeze the iso out into the bowl,squeeze it like you fucking hate it.I also use the same iso to rinse multiple jars in a run,thicker is better to a certain extent.
pic seven is the bowl going under a fan for a day or so to evap off,never,ever use heat.
See ya in a day or so too scrape out the bowl and have a looksee..........laters. ​

After roughly 60 seconds dependent on dryness of material and iso% chloraphyl starts leaching outta the material.
Not a good thing but ya can't get around basic chemistry.

What is the benefits of isopropyl over butane. I have never made either, been kicking around the idea of it though. Had found a place that makes a unit that you can recylce the butane. Also, you state about the time being an issue, can you elaborate a little more on that. Thanks

nice how to taint, how much trim went in? i have bubble bags and uually jsut do that, but recently got a bottle of everclear and made oil. dont much like the taste of it though ice hash tastes much nicer. how does the iso taste?

The total amount of material used was 492 grams.
I used two quarts of 91% iso to process it.
I is askeered of butane but have done it and it works just loverly I just personally prefer the iso.
Time is critical due to the leach factor of chloraphyl and other oils not really desired in yer hash.
Tastes like hash when done right tastes like ass when done wrong.
I like water hash also again my preference is for the iso.
Good screens and strict time controls result in a hard to beat product.
Here's a link for screens,my main two sizes are 120 and 160,I'd get a range and try them all and you can sew bags.

ive made this stuff alot, i got to say though it is much better to smoke when made with 151 rum. you can make a tincure and a bruise,cut, hurt spot rub that helps it heal faster

Shows just how much you know (or care) about the medical qualities of this plant, bro. The only "clown" is you making that statement. Lots of people actually get benefits by adding cannabis to their "rubbing alcohol", have a nice day.

question: what do you do with the material after making ISO? can you still cook it up with oil/butter to make editables or is it just spent of thc?

everytime i make iso i get kief like "hash" after the iso have evaporated
but it was alot worst then kief
any idea what went wrong?
