We read a little in a Philosophy of religion class. Its interesting in that it was written for Arabic, and every word can have upto 30 translations, meaning as soon as you translate it it loses meaning. In fact, once it is translated it is not considered a Quran anymore. (Citation, National geographic last night LOL )
nice......i caught the tale end of that....i set the dvr to record the next time it comes on...

thats when i hit ffwd...............thats dvr talk for fast forward:hump:.......its the views toward women that stops me from taking my shahadah.....i just dont see how any culture can look at women as second class citizens...i mean seriously..they are our mothers and the givers of life...if there is anything on this earth closer to a god like life giving creature....i say there is not.....

Yes, but I learned a few things I didn't know while watching that special, and they were focused on Sharia law as it's practiced in Palestine. Those.. "behavior" laws actually aren't such a bad thing, they simply require duty to humankind. But, as a woman raised in the culture I was, to be as I am, I could not fathom living under someone's rule simply for my sex.
If it bothers you, you should watch it.
I actually agree with that.

 im sorry why should anybody inflict themselves to do something that makes them feel uncomfortable or in a negative way?
Exactly my point.....sometimes we need to get mad/uncomfortable in order to see more clearly our positions, why we take them, or why we should conform them. It is only National Geographic, after all.

i keep close company with islamic palastinians....and they have taught me alot about the islamic religion and arabic culture over the years and i do follow some islamic beliefs...but just like any other religion or belief system you have the nut jobs....but because of americas campaign against anything other than christianity we only see the evil of islam over here and not the good...what isnt talked about are the terror and attrocities carried out in the name of cristianity and catholocism.....9/11 has nothing on the crusades...

the behavior laws arent bad at all....its the fact that women are looked at as lower an inferior beings....they are not taken seriously and arent even allowed in the same room as the men when the men congregate.....its mnot that they choose not to be in there...they ae not allowed unless beckoned for service...at that time thy will enter the room with tea and cookies making sure not to look at any of the men in the room in there eyes..for a women to do so is considered disrespectful and they will bhe punished or chastized for doing so....this is no something ive read or seen on t.v. this a part of the islam culture that i have witnessed with my own eyes on several different occasions......

so your are really going to sit there with an american flag on your avatar and give me shit for my beliefs? way to go for freedom mr american....and yes my head is on very straight...its those of you who sit in your little american culture bubble and refuse to learn about humanity and other cultures that walk this earth.....for me the greatest thing about being an american is the ability to mix with others of different beliefs and cultures...and the freedom to do so without persecution from my government or church of choice.......

Except women if you're an Islamic fundamental/man......right? Then, fuck them, the women, right? If you were an American you would have walked the fuck out when the women were told to "leave". That is what we do, we real Americans. We don't stand for Bull Shit positions, in the name of anything, period.....

did you even read my posts or just trying to argue for argument sake....the problem i have with the islamic religion is the treatment of women.....im supposed to disrespect a man in his own home and walk out when i dont agree with his culture......really...thats how you act in life...well good luck to you my friend because trying to understand someones beliefs rather than telling them to fuck off when you dissagree is what i believe to be a better solution.....:joint:
