This becomes "angels on pinheads". Theoretically, and with perfect distribution by a dedicated evil genius with lotsa syringes and a coupla decades to <cough!> kill, thousands.
But as a marine effluent - improbably two, possibly one, probably none.
But FUKU has been putting that much out daily, for YEARS now. I hate to sound alarmist, but this shit accumulates in plankton (10x more so than in water), the building block of life in the ocean. I do not think dismissing it as so diluted that no harm will come to anyone is a bit misleading.

Cesium is not the only radioactive isotope being released either.

who the heck is monitoring this and why haven't they been penalized?

Do you mean more shame for the Electric utility to bear or for the Japanese govt? Just how does one gets penalized and what is too stiff a penalty for this? How about the old, legal dirt from GE on this shitty reactor design? They have some responsiblity, I'd say, but, this was defined as an act of god, long ago, from the tsunami.

It is a bit like walking up the hostage, with a bomb vest wired up and saying, "Oh sir, you can't do that. I must write you a ticket." :)

Are you having another one of those embarrassing moments??

What could possibly result from penalizing people involved in the disaster at Fukushima? Do you want the UN to fine Japan?? Maybe we should go to war with them... Oh wait...

Fucking hell, seems like it really isn't a big issue then, lets all live near Japan and enjoy a long and healthy life! Most of you seem to know what your all talking about and have the educated knowledge to know this isn't serious then. Good on you!

Just because Chernobyl is forgotten about even tho north Wales and parts of north Ireland and Scotland are still having lambs born with major deformities, proven to still be caused by the disaster in 1985, the total amount of cesium-137 that has been released into the Pacific Ocean from Fukushima is 10,000 to 100,000 times greater than the amount released into the oceans by the Chernobyl disaster or by the atmospheric nuclear weapons tests of the 1960s.

Funnily I did see the documentary on what was caught in Chernobyl, and something we have known (as sientists in the labs) about since 2001 but again governmental control on what hits main stream media has only told you all now is that there is a fungus growing inside the reactors of the plant. Now, scientists have been working on this the past decade on finding how marine life and the fungus is surviving the fall out. Having worked in Nuclear power plants and in relative labs, we are all signed up on a secrecy act but all I can say is we are still a long way off from surviving a melt down.
Science has moved on, I can tell you that... But what I can tell you, is that okay, most of you think this radioactive leak is nothing to worry about. But.... Has it not dawned on all you already qualified scientists here whom think that this issue may only effect a few people, get a grip...this cycle will last for many generations, because of the food chain of fish and other marine fauna, and the radioactivity will be recycled and in fact the meat content will increase rather than decreasing by decay. Even if only one one-hundredth of the radioactivity (more than 1e15 Bq of CS137) were to enter this recirculation pattern, the collective whole body ingestion dose over many generations would exceed 1e7 Sv, sufficient to kill more than 1,000,000 people.

So... Come back to me when you suss that this ain't a big issue. It's not me I worry about, it's my kids that I've brought into this world now. It's all well n good sparking a jay nd making a laugh out of it or shrugging it off... But fuck... I feel for our next generation. And this is coming from someone who's life bread comes from nuclear energy.

I would recommend people do their own research, and dont believe every news report you see, your better off to cross reference the information you find with other sources. Personally, I am pretty much ignoring what the government says about Fukishima, research, research, research.

A good rule to live by, Don't believe anything you hear, and only believe half the things you see.

(Although these reports are from only 1 site, I thought it would be a good start for those who know bugger all.)

if you consider the claptrap from alex jones is "research, then clearly you have much deeper problems than simple gullibility.

Cheers dude! Awesome scene isn't it? Haha!

Sure I've read stupid scaremongering 'conspiracy' news feeds and alike but we've done our research in the labs and are being called in to try help in solving Fukushima along with other scientists in the field. However believe it or not, mafia ruling over this issue have moved in and are sending homeless people into the plant, offering a high premium for risking their life's to go and investigate, taking photos inside and tell them what's going on! Crazy!

What was the mystery ILI that killed his cousin and 3 others in Texas?
was that a question?

a challenge?

a mindless brainfart?

WTF is an "ILI", who did ity supposedly kill, and why the fuck does it make alex jones less of a douche canoe when he rants and shouts his stupidity?

even Howard Stern has more "Journalistic Credibility" than alex jones.
