Is this true?

My father was an interpreter for the Italian navy during the Bikini test

It's Important that these technologies be tested under extreme conditions, and the italians have extensive experience in this kind of operation.

Under-Water testing

Cold Weather testing

Desert testing

Maximum Load testing.

So long as you believe that our paying taxes makes us complicit in killing babies then THEY, by their working, making munitions, joining the military, worshiping their leaders and accepting every proposed activity those leaders put forth, started the war.

You can't have it both ways here Rob.
...good point. Governments coerce taxation / conscript soldiers equally on both sides of any conflict. Do you suppose the fried children "started" the war too?

Internment camps were after war had been declared, that's apples to oranges. The Japanese military, at the behest of the Japenese Gov., attacked sovereign US territory. A government isn't some magical force, it's a body of people that exist to serve the interests of the governed. I personally don't recall hearing about massive Japanese protests over their military's actions. Apathy doesn't make you innocent. These folks weren't just twiddling their thumbs while their military ran amok; I don't recall the Japanese military having an issue with eligible males failing to meet the call to join.
The existence of the internment camps is proof that some sheep are more equal than others. Ironic that a "free country" would inter it's own citizens. no?

If you think a government exists to serve the interests of the governed, I want to smoke what you smoke...it's really good shit.

Wow! It is truely refreshing to know that some of you folks are not responsible for keeping me safe LOL.

The Japanese were hardly innocent. They tortured, slaughtered and enslaved millions. It's not just the USA, it's the whole world almost. Iran's leaders have threatened to destroy us, allowing them to do so is insane. At some point, we will be forced to take preemptive action, or be attacked ourselves. Labeling Japan as innocent demonstrates a complete lack of knowledge.
Why take pre-emptive action? Why not let'm develop nukes? If they use even one, they're cooked. The book to read is Twilight of the Bombs by Richard Rhodes. cn

That was Red1966 you quoted...

Does it really surprise you that he's not exactly "fond" of Persian and Japanese people?

Your choice obviously being German, right?
The only "obvious" choice would be the one I am currently using, liar. Calling me a Nazi is your counter? Really lame. You really make me ashamed of being Irish, you disgrace to your country.

Lol, you're not Irish, you retard.

Why do so many Americans think they're fucking Irish?

You're a fucking retard red. Adults are talking now so STFU and go back to stormfront
Yes, you're clearly behaving in an adult manner. Can't answer the question, so attack the questioner. That's "adult". What's next, are you going to throw a tantrum?

the dude's more than a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic... I'm surprised he can use a computer... Maybe they have classes for that on stormfront - "IT for Rednecks" much like "Carl Sagan's - Cosmos (edited for rednecks)"
I see you've decided to continue avoid the issue and continue to attack me personally. I guess this is your way of handling defeat. So who's "more than a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic"?

Hundreds of thousands of innocent people died when the USA government fried them in Nagasaki and Hiroshima. This civilian targeting was DESPITE the advice of General's MacArthur and Eisenhower, both of whom believed it was not needed to end the war. "They" did not start a war, anymore than the 120,000 Americans of Japanese ethnicity that were placed in prison camps in the USA started a war. Innocent people don't start wars, governments do. All it takes is for people to follow "leaders" and be told their immoral acts make them heroes....
Innocent people die in all wars. This has always been so. Disrupting or destroying the industry and population that fuels the military is a legitimate policy. Pretending this is unique is mistaken. Demanding the USA sacrifice the lives 100's of thousands of it's troops to satisfy your moral standard is ridiculous.

So you prefer that we let them detonate a nuclear bomb, perhaps in a major US city, before we stop them? "Why not let'm develop nukes?" Are you kidding?

So you know my ethnic background better than I? Both my grandparents on my father's side immigrated from Ireland as children. There are more people of Irish descent in America than in Ireland. Your ignorance is showing.

wow...:-|
pearl harbor had civilians living there too.

Hiroshima was japan's largest military industrial manufacturing city(It was a rally point city where japans army was mobilized before being shipped off ), and Nagasaki was the most important seaport for fighting the war in the pacific .
this is why they were bombed. Not because it would kill the most civilians, but because it would bring Japan's military to a grinding halt.

In a current parallel, Hamas fired rockets at Israeli cities, Because Israel was attacking Hamas from withing the cities.
fighting while surrounded by civilians will guarantee collateral damage.

Here's the issue since you're such a "well red" commie...

Your claim that no oil is coming outta Iraq is bullshit. I have PROVEN this to be wrong and have shown oil was flowing from Iraqi fields both during and after the US led invasion/occupation.

In fact, output is at a level that has surpassed Iranian production and is currently a concern to the Saudis who hold the #1 spot in terms of output/production.

Iraq-Saudi OPEC standoff over next oil curbs

So after I've proven a point you clearly cannot absorb, maybe some "home truths" will get your attention...

the point he was trying to make is, the oil is not flowing to the US.

it is flowing to europe, china japan, etc...

we were sold a bill of goods on the iraq war including the claim that we would depose saddam, and the iraqi oil production would repay us for having to go to war, and for rebuilding their broke dick country.

the US taxpayer got fleeced.

shit, we never got paid back for the marshal plan in europe, or rebuilding japan.

america goes to war wallet first, and leaves all our cash lying around when we leave.

worst imperialists ever.

Cheaper for you guys to get of Canada, plus you guys have your deal with the House of Saud. You still get some from the Arab states but that only makes up aboout 20% of imports, not including the saudis.

And cost's could have been saved in Iraq by not disbanding the military & police and stopping the looting in the early days... People went crazy and were even stripping blocks of marble of the walls in some palaces...

You broke it you bought it...

war is not your kids roughousing in a department store.

saddaam forced us to go to war, then by refusing to abide by the cease-fire forced us to do it again.

ideally his ass should have been beaten to the curb the first time, he should yhave been caught, trtied in kuwait, hanged, and the "country" of iraq should have been carved into a nation for the Kurds, and a nation for the chaldeans, and then, after recouping the costs of having to kick their ass we should have left with a wagged finger and an exhortation to "Not make us come back again"

thats the only way war works, otherwise it's just the US going broke and sacrificing our men for idiotic feelgood rhetoric and bullshit.

if it's not worth stomping that ass flat, it's not worth going to war.

in the end both gulf wars had legitimate and pressing reasons for war, but the fools in washington love to gild the lilly, and they lack the balls to prosecute war in a manner that doesnt pauper the US taxpayer.

they made most of the same mistakes they made in vietnam,, except for the "proportionality" blunder. refusing to engage in useless touchy-feelie "proportionality" is the only thing that saved iraq 2, the return of overwhelming force, from turning into vietnam 2 electric boogaloo.

edit: not disbanding the military and police? those were the assholes who caused the shit in the first place. they had to go.

the baathists were just fascists in giant 70's pornstar moustachioes. saddam's army and "security forces" were a huge part of the problem. they should have been rounded up and penned in the desert while the country was pacified like we pacified germany, then the bastards should have been turned over to the new elected government. whatever government the people of iraq voted for, with no vote rigging, no propping up one dickhead over another, and no interest in the outcome save that the count is correct and the majority rules. if they want a theocracy they will have one whether we like it or not, unless we turn that fucking kitty litterbox into a colony and run it from washington.
