Is this too much money?

hey RIU,

i'm looking into grow box's ive found good ones of ebay etc that are only around £50 but when it comes to shipping they are asking around £70 extra too ship to me and thats the tent alone, i found quite a good website and there's a sale that expires at 1am tomorrow so i'm curious if its worth grabbing this deal or is it still massively overpriced?
(many places do not deliver to me as i'm not part of the mainland)

Premium Grow Tent by Black Orchid (100x100x200) = £89
400W Masterblaster HPS kit = £79.99
6" Intake Fan and Carbon Filter kit = £85

so the whole bundle comes to: £341 including shipping (extra £38 ) but the current deal they have on makes it £291.99 including shipping

thats a good price, bradamon.. you can spend 200$ on a tent easy… $200 on a fan.. $200 on a filter, $200 on a light. easily, bro. so u be getting good prices, mon, even tho pounds are heavy, lol

yeah in dollars we're talking like $488 so does that sound like a decent price?

YA MON, DATS COOL RUNNIN.. I PAID $160-$225 EACH INCLUDING SHIPPING AND TAX.. JAH DATS NORTHAMERICAN (DOLLARS) AND THAT WAS SHOPPING AROUND GETTIN BEST PRICES.. SO JAH JAH MON, YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY.. 4 ITEMS = $600-700 EASY. SO 488 I SEE AS YOU SAVING EXTRA 1-2 HUNDRED OR SO.

There's kits made in aus duno what it would cost to get to you but $800aus gets you a 2x2x2 Mylar tent 2 dimmable 600w ballasts 2 glass reflector tubes 2 1200w HPS 2 1200w MP globes 2 60w fans 2 4lt grow neuts 2 4lt flower neuts, grow yo yos timers ec wand temp gauges can get you details if interested

Those ventec filters don't work at all...literally at all, in my experience. The fans are great for the price though. I had to replace my filter because after one week of flower(and even the last couple weeks of veg) my entire house stunk. Replaced it with another one and same thing. Replaced it with a phat filter and there is zero smell. You get what you pay for.

Buy cheap buy twice...or trice like i've been dumb enough to do in the past.

thats sounds good but unfortunately shipping from UK to the island im on (not far away) is around £50 ($80 ) so to get it from aus were talking serious cash i dont have haha

Ahh good call on the phat filters, just read up on them and they sound great. They're actually not more expensive from what I can tell - a 450 CFM 6" (close to the ventech I ordered) is $93.00 so about half of what the VenTek fan/filter combo is - I'd assume with a fan it'd come out to be about the same?

I dunno the 6" x 24" that is rated for 450cfm paired with a quality fan, would cost me about $300 where I live.

The ventech fans are fine, I just bought two of the filters and neither one worked AT ALL. Just a heads up. I chalked up the first not working to it possibly being old(like old stock or something), so I gave them another shot considering they are about half the cost of anything else, and the second one was just as bad. Not sure how there can be such a dramatic difference in quality but there is.

Sometimes I forget how much I love my Amazon Prime 2-day free shipping on like 90% of the grow equipment I get.... I cant speak to the filters, but I know my newish ventech 6" fan works peachy fine.... kinda... slow startin up, lol, but thats fine with me, prolly much better for the motor. Has finally allowed my grow room to find a stable temperature window :D
