Is this sprout even weed?

I'm not even sure that this is weed? Are these the pre-leaves or is this just some random plant? it has been above soil for about 24 hours.... Any insight would be great, thanks!

haha ya man..... i got 3 pots and i put in 3 seeds in each..... Early on some other shit popped up that was very small and thin with a red stem.... these guys are different, bigger, thicker and green..... So i just am not sure its weed? I planted them with the tail up so that might have screwed things up so I dont know! Im just worried im wasting my time?
 
yeah it doesn't look like cannabis but holt out a few days and if you don't see 2 little jagged leaves (that look like the main fingers on a weed leaf) coming out on the sides you can pluck it.... how big is the pot ... 3 seeds is a lot for one pot.
 
looks like it to me, give few days youll see some tinnny jagged leaves comin up from between the seedleaves
 
it is a 12 inch pot..... i was gunna pluck 2 out of each pot early on.... pretty much whichever sprouted first stays... can you over germinate the seeds?
 
haha such disagreement! i might have taken the taken the shell off on this one before i planted it... it is only about 30 hours old so im hoping those two leaves are coetyldons or whatever and true leaves will come soon? How long have true leaves taken to sprout for you guys?

you'll see new growth in a day or so, tiny at first. they don't start growing by leaps and bounds until they're about 6-8 weeks old.

and yes, those are cotyledons (pronounced koh-tuh-LEE-duns) ;)
 
I suggest that all the guys who have never grown weed from seed should stop posting now, as you are making yourselves look stupid.

To the OP: It's fine, and perfectly normal looking.
 
I cant tell with those pics. dont know why people are getting upset about others opinions though. I do have some questions and some advice. first advice it should be planted sprout down. sceond is a question why did you take the seed shell off? you really dont want to touch the seed to much.
 
Well that looks just like my sprouts did and every photo of a sprout i have seen, so I have to say Yes it is pot. Just look at some pics around the place and you will be able to see for yourself that this is normal.
