Is this normal for autos?

I have a northern auto by Blimburn that is at day 54 from seed. Blimburn says it's a 70-80 day plant. I noticed last week after I set out side that a couple of the lower fan leaves were starting to yellow on the very bottom. Now it is working it's way up the plant but hasn't affected the buds or it's leaves yet...just the larger fan leaves. Now the ones that are yellow are starting to turn dark brown. Is this most likely a deficiency of some sort or do autos tend to do this at the end of their life expectancy. This is my first auto. image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

You want the plant to yellow from the bottom the last 2-3 weeks of its life. It gives you a cleaner smoke and shows the plant used all of the available nitrogen. This is a good thing.

A little more than (Mg) def, good for the poster to leave the fucked leaves on, as many remove in shame, flush well both plants, and potup in a week tease out roots b4 potting up, understand, budding leaves need no (N) but require a boost of (P) and (K) either use artificial salts or better to just potup

What ferts you using? Autos need nitrogen till they are through growing. I have found the Earth Juice transition feeds work real good for autos. Cut out all nitrogen when you think you have about 3 weeks left till chop. That is what works for me.

problem is that plant needs more then 2-3 weeks just tossing that out there

Yes i know that. I'm just telling the poster that is what the plant should look like IF there was only 2 weeks left.

it's funny to see everyone using all these nutes... go organic with a water only soil and you will never be happier

usually you add 2 weeks to breeder times when growing auto's
That seems like false advertising to me...so if a breeder had 100 of these plants and a couple finished up two weeks sooner they just use that as their base time? What a crock. I'm a mmj grower and kinda rely on these times to plan my grow accordingly because I'm only allowed 7 total plants and only 3 can be mature at any one time..but that law changes after the new year...

I use earthjuice seablast bloom for all my flowering plants...seems to work well. I picked up some organic garden lime that has a lot of calcium and magnesium and pulverized it to a fine powder and used that since I can't find any Cal-Mag anywhere here.

all the pics are of the one plant. If the leaves are completely yellow then why not remove? I haven't done it yet but trying to understand the rational of leaving them on if they are yellow and don't produce anything for the plant. What do u mean by teasing the roots out before potting up. Are u saying I should repot this plant this close to finishing?

the plant can be smoked at 8 weeks but the optimum window for harvest is usually later
garden lime is fine i use a couple teaspoons to a gal of dirt when i make my soil up even if its bagged soil i still add some

and just FYI my nutes are roughly 5-11-14 in flower
and honestly there are very few bloom nutes that dont have some kind of N in them
nitrogen is still required
i just stop feeding them around chop

but what i was getting at when i was saying a veg feed is that plant still looks border line stretching / still vegging
and i usually throw a veg feed on them a couple times as i taper into bloom

Ya thanks tekdc911. I topped this one about 5 days before she started to flower and then she grew about another foot then stopped, just buds growing but I look daily for trichs and now at the end of the 3rd week of flower just now starting to show trichs...no wonder they have been outa stock of these beans and I definitely wouldn't recommend this strain to anyone. My Auto Purple Cheese on the other hand is only a week into flower and trichs were there from day 1. Breeders site also says height is around 90-120 cm for the northern-mines barely 75 and no more vertical growth. Now the auto purple cheese is supposed to be between 50-80 cm but mine is at 140 cm!

Northern Auto 3 1/2 weeks and hardly any trichs...

Auto Purple Cheese less than a week trichs...

the longer flower auto's seem to smoke and yield better
for me anyways
ive ran a few northern lights auto's from a couple of different breeders they all seem to take their time in flower
