Is this normal for 1 month???

Hmm. Ok on 10/8 I took my clones out of the clonebox I built.

On 11/1 I placed the clones over in the flower side

Thats 3 weeks of growing in the VEG side

by 12/3 they had doubled in height, and started flowering a little

Thats 4 weeks since moved to FLOWER side

are you using the led ufo, thingy for budding too?... seems to be working well but can you get it any closer with out burning the plants? i don't think leds put out very many lumens.. i'd say good job so far..

i have to say super2200 those look awesome, what strain is it?
I can lay it on top of the plant if I want to, but then the lower branches dont get ANY light.

The UFO's are about 5 inches from the top now, just so the lower branches can get a little. Thats also why I have the CFL's there to help.

I agree, but as you can tell I am NO WHERE close to harvesting.

I was trying to get an idea of ABOUT how long I had left.

I do have a 60-100x's magnifier to use when things get better, but as for now how many weeks before I even need to pull it out?
As you are NO WHERE close to harvest I can't say ABOUT how long it will take as it depends on the factors i mentioned, but I have used LED and CFL's to grow and both take considerably longer to produce bud than MH and HPS. Once bud growth slows down after the initial flowering growth spurt and you can see trichomes with the naked eye you can start to use the magnifier but you don't have to wait to do so. If you know the normal time it takes for this strain to flower (Try seedbanks for information) add at least another month to that time and just keep an eye on it.

One of the problems of LED's is that they do not penetrate the canopy very well, same with CFL's to a lesser extent. You can LST the plant or use various other techniques to maximize the effectiveness and coverage

After the initial growth spurt that happens when you go into flower the plant will change its priorities from height to bud growth, it may even seem to stop for a while but it will pick up in time and the last few weeks see the most bud development.

P.S LED's don't put out high lumens as with other bulbs however the light they do produce is in the right spectrum for the plants as a lot of light in other bulbs gets wasted as the plant doesn't utilize green and yellow light

yes I know. I just dont have any option for ventilation, or I would be using HPS.

As far as VEGing, the led's are SUPERIOR to fluorescent, but for flowering, IDK yet, this is my first LED run

Thanks for all the other good advice

Cool, I was just clarifying for someone else who posted asking you how many lumens it outputted.

I agree LED is very good for VEG though I wouldn't say they are better than Metal Halide but maybe as good as fluoro and not great for flowering as of yet, but I'm confident they will be superior one day.

No worries that's what this forum is for :)

if you want to move to a HPS for flowering i'd go with a cool tube type set up.. it will eliminate any heat issues from the bulb it self.. i like the science behind the led spectrum i wish it had a larger lumen output.. do you happen to know what it is supposed to be?

You know what strain you're growing?

Pure sativas can take a long time to show any real major buddage, and sometimes produce small (yet oh so potent) buds.

If thats not a mostly sativa, then I'd think that something prevented the plant from going right into flower, like a light leak or a nutrient issue.

As far as when to cut, whoever said 3-4 weeks has clearly been smoking some great weed, because I would guess that plant will need at least 7 more weeks until its ready.

It does look like a healthy plant, and thats always good :leaf:

imho i would let them go in veg from ne where from 3 weeks to 4 weeks. Check my link in my sig out. My girls are almost 4 weeks and im switching them into flowering tomorrow.

Wen ur using cfl's u dont get the light penitration unless u have the lights all around the plant from top to botom.

I think your looking towards at least a good solid 2 months until harvest. They are close to where they should be considering the lights you are using but agree you might try bringing them a little closer.

Gotta agree with Mr.Bomb --- at least 7-8 more weeks under current lighting. if you can, put them under a good HPS and you'll dramatically reduce the that.

i don't think he's gonna spring for a HPS in the middle of a grow but something a little more likely would be to add more cfls.. cheap and effective
