you could grow with that, I'd rather have one with a reflector though, you'd probly get twice the production with it.

ya its not the best but im sure you will get bud with that. If you do get it take off the glass shield as it will lower your light output with it on.

Those are all worthless for growing. Get a bunch of 100w cfls from lowes. You will do a lot better. HIDs are best for growing but cfls are great for veg and will work for flower but not near as well as the HIDs. Check out discounthydro they have some good deals and dont rip you for shipping!

That is aquestion of personal preference that can be argued for years. Alot of guys talk higly about this same light, and there is even a club of somesort here for it. Others say they suck, but it's what you want not what they want or do. For the price i would try it, if it sucks and fails, then it was only $20.00, right?

I used to use nothing but cfl's and the good ones at that. 105W 6900 lumens at 6500K, till i bought a 150w hps econolight. i've gotten much better results with the 150w even for the veg period. the bottom line plants eat light its their food, and just like all other living things the more u eat the bigger u get. You can put all the cfl's you want around a plant and still not get the kinda lumens u can get from this 150w hps. Adding more cfl's doesnt increase your lumens, you can have 50 cfl's but you only get whatever the highest lumen output bulb u have in short 1ea. 105w cfl puts out 6900lumens and 5ea 105w cfl's still only put out 6900lumens adding more bulbs just spreads out the light it doesnt increase lumens.

i think with some kind of reflector it will be a good starter light to get you throw the first 2-3 grows. then you can upgrade to a nice 250-400-600w
