if you chop it now it wil shrink terribly, be fluffy, and most likely have as stated little to no effect. Your plants look pretty healty. You dont have anyone that can come and give them some water over vacation? It is very much worth it to just wait. Even if you dont have anyone to come and water them, leave for break, put your lights ona timer and just leave them. You will come home to them beingdead and dry and will just have to trim them. Its shitty to trim with all the leaves dry, but atleast they will have a few more days to mature, and i personally think you get a better product if you let it all dry on the stocks.
im really not comfortable leaving the lights on when im gone, plus ill be gone for a month so i dont think i want to keep em running. i can stick around till next monday at the latest...

too bad you have to chop them so soon.. they really are not even close to being rdy to harvest (cant really even see any bud formations, just some white hairs).. if you absolutely MUST chop cuz youre going away, then .. learned a little trick from my friend last year.. chop all of the leaves EXCEPT the ones that are on the colas (leaves near or touching pistils).. increase photoperiod from 12/12 to 14/10, move plants as close to light as possible, give the roots a dose of molasses (2 teaspoons per gallon) and after 2 weeks you should have a tiny tiny amount of actual bud to pull off and smoke before you destroy the plants. This forces them to unnaturally swell somewhat in the short term but completely &*#! any hopes for a long term harvest... Obviously doing this will irreversibly destroy any hope of having a decent harvest, but if you dont then you are going to have nothing to smoke dude, honestly (just a few white hairs -which is going to be really rough - like smoking straight clorophyll/leaves).. good luck!

what if i set up a wicking system with a 5 gallon bucket and then do what mr kushman says? if i can get them water to last for a couple of weeks, let them die, and come back in time to toss em in jars, wouldnt that work?

yo mates, a quick little update.

so im picking up at least 30-40% amber/red trichs when i use my scope. not one clear left. leaves are yellowing and dying fast as hell and the buds are swelling.

this week will also be the 8th week of flower.

i know many of you said at least a month, and im down to wait based on your opinions, but arent all of these factors saying harvest now!?!?

thanks brvs

sry didnt read other pgs....post removed..

id watch out for timing... i would definitely want to have a water feeding week or two before i cut... i would wait maybe week before starting the "cleansing" so harvest in 2-3

hmmm, thanks mate thats actually just what i wanted to hear. im leaving monday for three weeks so ill probably have the person watching em to feed for a week and then give straight water. so i might harvest in a little less than 4 weeks.

sound good?

its a longer flowering period but w/e its a sativa .... maybe get some cheap florescents if ure worried about leaving high temp light on a timer with supervision...
works great for my ease of mind
