I am going to be growing in a 3ft x 3ft box that i painted ultra white. I have One 40watt flourescent tube light, Two 12 watt CFL'S and One 26 watt CFL light inside.. It was hard to get a 47 inch flourescent tube light in when the box, corner to corner was 47 and a hlaf inches... but i fit it in going from one corner of the box to the other i have the two 12 watt cfl lights on the side for side lighting and the 26watt cfls for the top of the plant ,, i am only planning on growing one plant in it until i get more powerful lights..... I was also wondering ..i have a 420watt Metal Halide light,,,, could i put it in the even though my space is 3X3....?????

In my opion, for a box the size you're talking about, a 250w w/ hortilux , and a cool tube. An electric ballast would help. As far as the 420w mh, you may want to double check me, but I think without an insane amount of ventilation, it may get a little too toasty. As far as what you've got in there now, you might want to add about a hundred true watts of 6500k cfl- good for flowering.Hope I've been helpful, and good luck.

Sorry, I meant the 6500k's were good for vegetation

in my opinion, HELL no! in my 2 ft by 3 ft grow i have 16 42w 2700k cfls (and i buy like 3 to 4 and the lamps/sockets to add about every 2 weeks,) if u want any worthwhile bud u will need much much more light to get decent bud
