Is this business worth it?

I'm trying not to give out any details. Legal state, but newly. Delivery business brings it to a local place and we do gift exchange. $40-90 eighths for flower, I've had the $50 tier twice of the same strain, the first time it impressed me and the second time it didn't. It seems like the only way to consistently get the quality flower I want is to spend more.

The $90 tier is "name brand" stuff from breeders like cookies fam, but I haven't yet paid that much... The $80 I've been very impressed with, it just doesn't have the same branding behind it.

I looked at the one called Gary Payton and think it looks nice. I'm not very appetizer by the modern ice cream and candy cookies flavor thing and I think I'll like this, but I'm not sure if its even worth paying $10 more than a perfectly fine swamp gas or purple kush. What do you think?

You wanna buy some weed man?

That's pricey. If I were to buy weed from the weed store I think something like 200-300 an oz or 50-ish an 8th would be where I would look to be paying enough for the weed to be of decent quality. Are you in LA/California? I have seem some really high prices out there.

This place is medicinal only, redneck town. Not advertising just posting for price reference.

So Gary Payton is a common cut, it isnt rare, my guess is you can get it for 50 bucks in any legal state that allows clone sales. From what I gather, well grown weed in LA commands prices like that, I am in CO and that is way higher than the highest tiers here, 50-60 out the door (40ish before tax) is the top. It would be a pretty hard sell at the prices you are talking about.

Edit: I would suggest hanging around for a while and shooting the shit man. Looks like that dispo is a bit north of Sacramento, something tells me there are a bunch of people around you growing weed that would be happy to hook something up.

Click on the Nepali PInk and Strawberry Cheesecake link under my signature. I've been on here almost 3 years longer than you. I don't buy bud, I go open a jar from the cabinet in my garage.

Yeah, but the guy that started the thread asking if the prices seemed high/worth it does. It seems crazy to me that CA has such high prices since there was such an abundance and there has been a legal market for so long. Did they go up when the regulations changed around rec use or was it always like that?

He is not from California, I posted the link to the dispensary. The bud is taxed many times from the grower to the retail outlet and it is all required to be tested by a certified lab which adds to the cost also. There have been debates at the state level to reduce those taxes in order to better compete with the black market, so far no decision has been made. Each municipality can add their own tax also. The price here for rec and medical has been fairly constant.

That's rough, my advice/view is that the price doesn't always reflect the quality of the weed. If that's the price, it's the price. You should look into growing your own. Here we have ounces that range from 100 to like 300+. There isn't much correlation between what you pay vs what you get, so just find something you like at a price you agree with.

Here in southern So Cal taxes can vary throughout the county; the dispensary up the road from me charges roughly 16%, but others charge as high as 28%. Seems like the difference is whether the dispensary covers the excise tax; those that don't usually price items a bit lower. Every now and then I order directly from 710 Labs - they charge a bit over 30% in tax, though the retail cost is much lower.

Yeah the cheaper flower is hit and miss and I don't like messing with flower that isn't bomb, so I have to pay more at the moment. It socks because until our state market gets rolling it's gonna be like this if I don't want to deal with black market BS.

I like their $80 Swamp Gas but also wanted a more sativa leaning bud that doesn't taste like over sweet ice cream so I was interested in the gary payton
