Is this bud rot?

I noticed this dark spot, and I really hope that it's not bud rot. This strain does have some purple coloration (some trichomes are purple, purple stems, etc), but I can't help shake the feeling that it is affected with bud rot. However, there are no fuzzy patches of mold, and the "affected" area has stayed the same area size, so I really don't know what to do.

Looks like maybe bud worm? Seems that nuggs main stem was severed from a bug, or foul play. Inspect it break it off look for black dots of bud worm poop or the worm itself. Hopefully it broke some other way, GL.

I agree, looks like budworm. Cut that area out and start looking through all your buds, could be a lot more.

Bud worm

You guys were extremely right. Sadly, I didn't see this until now and I cut off the whole top bud and threw it away because I thought it was contaminated with bud rot. I found the little guy in there munching on the stem, and when I cut off the bud (this was tragic as it was the biggest bud [yes, yes, the kola]) I cut it up and found all those black poop dots.

Did I have to dispose of it anyway? Or did I just kill the kola in bad faith?
