Take a look at it under a microscope if you still have a bud, looks like rust mites if its not bud rot. Could potentially be millions of little bugs on your bud or if its mold you will see spores. Microscopes are like $10.
Nope. I have a few scopes and I checked out this bud and the pieces I broke up under x100 power and saw no buggers, just clear and cloudy trichs and the tint of the golden brown bud.

Sounds like some form of wilt if the stem was not right and combined with the color. If it is wilt and you caught it before rot set it you should be good. Didn't bring in any new plants or go visit another grow?

Could also be some electrolyte (nute) imbalance as her chemistry changes.

Will be interested in seeing if the stem base is rotted when you harvest. It happens quickly.
Only thing I can say is on the few buds that are discolored what they all have in common is they are super dry and all the true leaves are dead.

No contamination. I have four girls in veg ready to come over to flower but I always wait until all flowering plants are out and I bleach and air out flower room an entire day before I move them over.
No recent visits to other grows and no visitors here.

I will definitely take pics of stem base and root ball after harvest. My only decision now is being my 3 other girls in flower are ready to be cut, if I just shouldn't cut this sativa down early with them. I'm at day 65 I believe from early signs of white pistils, about 78 days from 12/12, this particular girl is a 11 weeker and has about 50/50 clear/cloudy. Debating.

Did you look on stems or undersides of leaves? Only reason I ask is because that looks exactly like what rust mite damage if its not rot. Look hard just to be sure that is not normal. Especially with leaves dying off maybe aphids but idk about it causing the bud to look like that.

yea, I'm experiencing something similar. I pulled the one in question, didn't want it to spread. don't know yet if any of that particular plant is salvagable.

have exactly the same problem, thought it was too much pk, but now i think it has to do with over watering. always happens late in flower, but its not bud rot. have tried heaps of different things to help it, had a couple of successful runs but then it came back. doesn't happen to other strains I've tried so moving on even tho it was a killer smoke. guy at the store said it was some type of rot from moisture in the air, nasty stuff, will ruin your plants. did you ever find a solution? thinking about trying some good bacteria for the roots, maybe give the plant enough help to fight it off. tried lots of silica but that didn't help either. come to think about it, when i ran it with a low ec i got less of it.

I've smoked a shit ton of moldy yucky weed, it won't kill you. Nasty - yes, for sure. If it gets you high smoke it. Looks like there is some green in there too!!

ive never found mites involved with it, can normally spot them. seems to be a bit of a mystery and is strain specific. i think its a ocean pearl strain, loves nutes but will cause it to rot late, still performs on low ec but going to cross breed it with something hardier.

reduced the watering and had excellent air flow and it still went bad :-| i think on my earlier crop that didnt get infected i used colloidal silver in the res and a mirco kill spray that was citric acid base. good luck to any one that encounters it.
