what size grow are you planing? if you have an idea of square footage? and is the LED 1(one) 35 watt or 135 watts?

Sounds like a damn good deal for an old PS3. The brand of LED light can make a huge difference as tons false advertise and don't work very well. You can easily find a 135 watt for $400+ if it's good.

Looks like you have most everything needed if the LED is good for flowering. Only other essentials would be an exhaust fan possibly running through a carbon filter and ventilation fans to provide circulation.

So you're going hydro for a first grow? Awesome. You'll find tons of hydro help here when and if you need it.
Naw im just going to do soil for my first grow , I've been reading up on both though . So it looks like I might make the switch after a couple of grows.
1x super lemon haze
1x pineapple express (g13labs)
1x money maker
1x white widow x big bud
Is bad to start with multiple strains? :bigjoint:

im two weeks into my first grow and things are goin pretty smooth. i defiantly wish i would of did more research on the strain i picked out. its a slower growing strain with a flower time of over 12 weeks. I'd defiantly try and stick with one strain your first time. its easier to figure out how sensitive your plants are to nutrients and make the appropriate adjustments. as long as you dont over over and over feed your plants you should be fine. nice murder junkies shirt BTW

Just so you know, growing in coco coir isn't the same as growing in soil, and in a lot of ways, it's considered drain to waste hydro.

Ok, so then you're buying soil for this grow too? Cause you said you weren't starting out hydro, and i didn't see soil listed in your supply list. My bad.

im using fox farms happy frog and ocean forest currently and having good results. Both these soils are full of nutrients and all kinds of goodies so theres no need to feed them anything for atleast the first month. i just give them a weekly boost of N and thats it. Fox farm is the shit and i'll defiantly be using their lineup of products on my next grow also.

these are at 2 weeks todayIMAG0573.jpg

I popped my seeds in peat/coco next time. After 7 days I just transplanted into happy frog and I'm getting no complaints from the girls yet. Here's a few photos of me/a newbie nervously popping seeds no pre soak 7 days ago and check it out. I'm posting this hoping it will help. I'm excited for you, your gonna be puffin your own soon enough. I look forward to seeing you progress. 20140724_221836.jpg20140724_221822.jpg 20140724_221929.jpg

Yea some good points made in this thread u should defo start with the soil u suggested and I would take the advice of sticking to one strain oh and before u go any further make sure and give the man taking ur old ps3s hand a really good shake because that is the deal of the century mate...
