Is this a good light to use

Hi all so I have this led light that a bought of amazon for 30 Pounds I’ve been using it for around a month now in a cupboard I built and my plant looks healthy to me I recently bought a tent set up to transfer my plant out of the cupboard to the tent but the light I have in my tent that came with the set up seems to be too hot as temp is reading 35 degrees wondering weather I should just put my led light in the tent to reduce temp I have attached pics

They are both 600 Watts the one In the tent doesn’t look that bright in the picture because I only just switched it on when I took the picture
I have a 150w HPS that I’m happy with. I have the same problem. High temps around 85f. One thing you can try is to use a larger inlet fan and a couple fans inside the tent. Probably oscillating fans. Should lower the temp a little bit. Also make sure your exhaust fan is facing outward. I saw another thread down someone said you could use a small window ac. That can work too. My plant doesn’t seem to mind the higher temps. Add a couple fans and see how it helps!

That LED isn't 600W, they probably advertise it as being comparable to 600W HPS (but it isn't). Are your fans working properly? Because two fans of that size should keep that tent close to the same temp as the room it is in as long as you exhaust the tent outside. I can tell you, without a doubt, that LED light isn't suitable for that size tent. You would probably need 5 of those in there.

To be honest

to be honest I don’t want to spend much more money on new fans and stuff as I’ve just paid 300 pound for all this stuff what is a window ac mate ? Do you think using that led light is a bad idea ? It seems to be doing a great job at the moment I’ll attach a picture now I haven’t moved my plant in the tent yet because of the temperature

Plants don't require much light at that stage but they will demand more later in veg and in flower. If you want to have suitable LED lighting in a tent that large (I'm assuming it's 4' x 4' ?) you are going to be paying $600 - $1,000 USD for quality off the shelf lights or half that price range if you build them yourself.

I didn’t think the light would be 600 w that’s just what was advertised although it does seem to be doing a good job whilst in the cupboard both fans are working properly but I’m not sure if I set the filter up correctly because it doesn’t seem to suck much air through it I will attach a picture now is one end of the filter supposed to be closed like that ?

It does look great! There isn’t an issue putting the led in. I know growing gets expensive. But when you want more quantity of weed you’ll need more watts which is more money. HPS is a super cheap way to get more flowers at the end of the day. A HPS above 150 should be in a air cooled hood. Set up your led light and post some pics!

Yes, the fan and filter appear to be properly connected, and the fan should be sucking air in through the sides of the filter and blowing it out of the tent. If the fan isn't outputting much flow then the filter is clogged or the fan is too weak (or not turned up to a high enough speed). I would just take the filter off for now until you see how the fan handles the heat. The plants aren't going to stink for awhile anyway.

It does suck air through it but i mean it’s not a great deal like it doesn’t suck like a vacuum lol however it blows a lot of air out the duct also the fans are 1 speed fans so I cannot turn it up ok so you suggest that tomorrow I take the filter off and leave the fans on and see what the heat is like then?

I just put the led in the tent very quickly just to give you an idea

I never thought it would be this hard to control the heat from the light it’s crazy !! I

What is the CFM rating for the fan and what size duct is it meant to connect to? If it is drawing enough air through then the walls should be sucking in when you close the tent. If they are sucking in really tight then you need to open up some more passive intakes. I would dial that in without the filter. If the flow drops a lot when you put the filter back in then the filter is the problem.

I have no idea what the CFC rating is mate I’m knew to this stuff I have attached a picture of the box and the paper inside although the fans should be the right fans as I got them from a grow shop two days ago and the tent so they knew my setup the intake is. 4 inch and the outtake is 5 inch the walls on my tent don’t suck in at all

One thing you can try doing as well is run your lights at night. My 18/6 was 6pm-10am and 12/12 is 6pm-6am. Helps lower demos slightly. Like I said the HPS light should have an air cooled hood. The light they sent you would be good for an open room setup

Use both lights at the same time. The LED is no where near strong enough to be anything but supplemental lighting.
I knew the led wasn’t a great light to be honest I’m just having so much problems with the heat coming off the other light

Ok, so I just did the math so I could figure out the units in measurements I'm used to. The duct diameter of yours is 125mm, which is 4" here and the 360m3/h converts to right around 212 CFM (cubic feet per minute). What are the dimensions of your tent? To put things into perspective, my tent is a 4' x 4' x 80" tent and I run a 6" fan in mine. I run it at about 50% speed most of the time, but closer to twice the CFM of what your fan is capable of when heat is a problem. If they spec'd that fan in for your tent then I would assume your tent is smaller than I thought.

My tent is 1.2 metre by 1.2 metre by 2 metres
