Is there a setting?

I'm having a problem with posts that people put large pictures on. Once the page start to load, as the pictures start popping up, my ability to navigate the pages slows to a crawl or stops entirely. I love a nice pic as much as the next guy but is there a setting to mitigate this?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

What does "mitigate" mean? If you use words like that here, you ain't going to get no reply.

Seriously, slow data transfer, which is either slow pc or download speed. Really no other causes. You decide which.

Thanks for your reply Jim. I know why it's slow. I was asking if there was a setting that I can use, to not display pictures past a certain size.

It doesn't happen on most pages.

If everyone would just post up thumbnails instead of the giant pics it would be fine.

I've noticed the same as you travisw. It's a pain in the nuts to navigate certain threads if the download speed isn't good.

Part of the problem is the image size limit. After the move to the new forum software the images are no longer automatically compressed and resized so the admin raised the limit to 10mb to allow people to upload those big ass pics from phones etc.
