Is there a better way to heat my grow shed?

no hate intended but stuff like that needs to be explained

id rather tell a noob he needs too much air exchange then too little like I said no hate
plus you need to tell them to use a dehumidifier or else humidity will skyrocket if in a sealed room
which if you guys didnt notice dehumidifier use a good bit.of electricity
just my 2

The fact that its a shed has no bearing on the conversation cause some people do trick sheds out with c02
Yup.. I like to use waste heat from a co2 generator.. works great!

Anyways, "sheds" are all different sizes and shapes... the one i'm working in isnt the typical size, its really closer to a small building.

Yup I plan on putting in a garage within 2 years that will be around 30 x40
using icf floor forms it will look like a garage but have 10' ceilings under where you park and hidden starwell lol my bat cave.

That sounds cool :) Hehe, I was helping a friend the other day with this garage, roughly the same size, I was joking about making a greenhouse outta it.. he looked at me for a second and said I would have but the utility would have charged me big money for anything over 100amp service. :). Clearly he already thought about it..

Thats why its my "shop" will have plenty 240 for "welding and tools" lol also as soon as my concrete work is done ill be doing all the rest so ill wire and plumb accordingly this has been thought out for far too long lol now were a legal state just motivates me more .

I meant that fresh air would be better than a seald room with stagnant air didnt you read?

I get the same numbers you do no big deal no co2 either
and I probably do it in a smaller space then you do.

I DO AGREE that the plants will suck out all useable c02 in a "sealed" room
Eat as much popcorn as you want
you haven't said anything that makes me feel intimidated or out grown

I spotted misinformation, and I called you on it. No need for emotions.

You still have yet to explain why fresh air would be better than stagnant air. If there is 400+ppms of co2 in the room, it doesn't matter if o2 levels are completely depleted. Your plants don't care about o2 or what the air smells like. As long as they are getting co2, it simply doesn't matter.

I'm sure in a smaller grow and someone constantly entering the room you wouldn't need co2 supplementation. However, you are not operating a sealed grow if this is the case.

And trust me fresh o2 is not bad
tell me smart guy what part of your plants need o2?(very important part)

You need to seal the room and run co2 with a dehumidifier and a sealed lighting system so you can cool the lights with outside air if they start to overheat the room. Otherwise, you will have to be constantly exchanging air and reheating the air that is brought in just to replenish co2.
Yeah.. I dont know if circulating cold air over hot lights like you say is a good idea.. Ive had problems with the fans stop and sieze from literally getting too cold from a direct intake from outside. Its always been easier to push hot air out.. I might have frost buildup on the exhaust, but it will fix itself pretty quick.

I guess I see it differently, i'm using waste heat from the lights to keep the room warm. So all I have to do is push hot air out and have it passively intake my leaky door and past the curtain. So i dont have to reheat the air like you said because I'll actually need cold air to make my setup work. Dont tell me bs like drafts are bad for the plants, Ive gone around with an IR thermometer and check temps on everything. Everything is where I like it.

Because I'm pulling in fresh when my lights are on this reduces my dehuey load, I'm able to run a peltier style dehuey and maintain my RH because of the low humidity of outside air. So I can run less power.

I guess I could fire up my co2 burner, but I'll just wait till it gets colder, I'm trying to conserve as much as possible. And I dont have a enough plant mass as of now to justify the added expense of fuel.

I know... whop de fucking doo.. we're noobs you're perfect.. get yer popcorn out.. yer laughing...

Um, its not coming from outside and is going to be partially heated as its coming from the space between....

Never mind. You guys are right and grow better than most and have huge manhood's. Awesomeness is you.

The panda poly in front of my door serves the same purpose to preheat incomming air. I'll take the 3f outta spec in exchange for more square footage.

So sorry to offend master gardner, me and noobs are going to go fertilize the dandelions.. if thats ok with you.

Sure thing kid not sure where you were goin any way
not like your numbers are better than mine and
I do it a small space with no co2 and in alaska
ive dealt with the cold :)

Thats ok with me
cause I think a room in a room is just a headache

how do you maintain or replace something?
tear yer wall down then redo it ?
that would last me one time before I put some serious thought into changing it
I also feel growergonwild has a good idea about the cold

As currently my exhaust/intake is running 50% of the time, I am hoping your memory serves. Love to reduce it to something much less.
I swear I'm going to test this out. I did in the past a few years ago (but didn't test many variables, just what worked for my exact environment). Just really busy now.

I'll try and do a couple different environments with different variables and post and log data for all of it. Its going to take a couple weeks though.

If my calcs are correct, I can replace my room air with my setup in a couple minutes. If i can reduce things to,say, 6, 2 minute runs.every 24 hours then I would be sitting pretty good. Smell may force longer runs though. Getting a variac for the exhaust also to enable another variant. If you can test this out I would be "virtually" in your debt. Thanks.

I would seal the room. Remove the glass and ducting for your lights. Run the lights at night. Add a tank on a controller (not a burner). Set your AC to 85* and rely on it to limit temps. Use a small portable heater with a digital thermostat switch set to 72*. And a dehumidifier. The CO2 doesn't run at lights out, so a burner doesn't help you, it only increases temps.
