Is seal a meal enough to protect smell?

Is seal a meal enough to protect smell?
I used the generic seal a meal bags.

I cant smell anything from the outside of my closet or by smelling the bags.
Will it be smelly when I open it up?
Was to much for mason jars.
Or should I freak out and double bag?
The last year I used crappy CRAPPY freezer bags and it was ok by June and I thought seal a meal would be doubly good.
On one hot sunny day on the way to a medical club my car REEEKD bad when the heat kind of cooked the seal a meal bags and the smell indeed was coming out with heat.
YEs I know 5 gallon buckets are the new thing or glass but I used seal a meal bags and have removed all the air.
NO ITS NOT MOLDED as I have burped them before I sealed them up.
This is for long term storage for the dispensary.

If the buds are dried and cured properly you can vacuum seal the bags.

ANd smell will remain?

Buds were dried on a quick cure rack then into turkey bags where I rotated the bottoms and burped them for a week or two.

Why not just use Ball or Mason jars?

No one uses them in norcal.

They use 5 gallon buckets but I just found that out after I was swimming in mason jars and switched to seal a meal.

I've been using the vacuum sealing bag's for several yrs not any problems at all , I like them better then jars for long storage in the bottom of the refrigerator lower drawer as they lay flat and do not take up as much space .. Now for my daily stash I have a big jar with the metal clip and rubber seal on the top. Also when I give some to Friends to take with them they like the Vac Bagged stuff also as it does not smell and is easy to store in the luggage or under a spare tire or some compartment

I used to pull a deep vacuum at first when I started to use the bags but I've found that a slight vacuum is better then a deep one as that to much vacuum can break the buds trichromes .

I would put them in jars and then in a vacuum bag so it doesn't get crushed. you wont smell any thing from those bags if you get the air out that's the key is getting all the air out.

I don't think I need to post a reason why mason jars wont and cant work in Norcal, especially if Im stating that our mason jars ARE 5 gallon buckets.

My mason jars are completely air-tight and let no smell out...I though the point of using mason jars to cure was they are airtight?

im going for fresh long time storage not cure. already cured months ago.


I did get some 25 gallon buckets also and the lids spin open and very air tight and thick plastic food grade!
No more fiddling with tiny quart jars.
