Is Purple Alien OG a powdery mildew vector?

I have a purple alien OG from Harborside that has been in veg for a few weeks. I recently noticed that it has a spot of PM on a bottom leaf. This is strange to me because my room is dry, well ventilated, and I haven't seen any PM on anything else I've done in this room.

Has anyone tried this strain before and had issues with PM?

If it is a PM vector I want to yank it now and create some space. I have 6 other strains going.

Thanks in advance.

it was probably already infected when you purchased it. are you positive it's pm and not fert. salts? Eagle 20 is a product that will sanitize it of pm.

What Causes Powdery Mildew?
Powdery mildew fungi seem to be everywhere. They overwinter in plant debris begin producing spores in the spring. These spores are carried to your plants by wind, insects and splashing water. Conditions that encourage the growth and spread of powdery mildew include:
  • Dampness or high humidity (Not common during rainy seasons or in extreme heat)
  • Crowded plantings
  • Poor air circulation
Specific plants attract specific fungi causing powdery mildew. So it is likely from the clone source as ovo stated.

I'm positive. It was definitely PM. It was a small leaf so I plucked it and tossed it vs. cutting off the affected part. I live in a pretty dry environment. The humidity in my room never gets above 40%. Lately it has been in the 20's, so I wouldn't say that conditions are prime for PM. What gives me the willies is that the plant is vegging and I'm seeing PM. It's one thing to see a little PM low on the plant when the plant is nearly done and is losing vigor, but this is unusual..... at least for me.

I'm about to switch to 12/12 so I'll keep a close eye on it. If I see more traces of PM I'll just get rid of the plant. My room is clean and I want to keep it that way. Clean, meaning I framed the room in my garage and sheet rocked the walls earlier this year. Even the garage itself was built 2 years ago. It's a "new" space, not a space that I've been using for the past 10 years or anything like that. If that was the case I would probably treat the room for PM vs. the plants.

No on the Eagle 20. I'd rather not use something that strong unless I have a serious problem.

Thanks to all for the advice.

You can try misting it with high ph water for a couple of days. Just use ph up to get like 9.5 and spray the leaves. It won't hurt the plant but will help deter the spores
