when i see more than 70% brown hair(pistil) they are ready for harvest. right??
ohh.. dont tell me to get magnifier shit and check the trochomes cuz im bum :(:( dont even have $15 to get it
is there another way to check their ripeness? any peculiar signs?

i already read it but the pics just aint clear enough
i googled to find some very accurate and detail picture but i couldnt; also the articles were all about trichome shit
so i decided to write a new thread
i always do research before write something im not that stupid :(
once again... am i right?? plz someone tell me some other signs of harvest thxx

just an addition, the harvest tutorial page which cph linked and also taking the first article of the harvesting and curing forum,
FDD said "when buds are done they look "done". the appearance of the bud changes"
how the fuck i know my buds are done if ive never done it before?
so im just making sure.. not to fuck myself

Yes that is correct. With out a scope your waiting for pistils to turn color 70-80% with just the tops shriveled.
If they are shriveld back all the way it means you are going past peak and loseing potency.

hmm.. honestly, how many cannabis growers got a scope to check the plant ripeness??
am i the only newbie grower who doesnt have a scope and needs some visible specific signs for harvest?

I have done my first 10-20 harvest with out a scope. I always waited for the pistils to turn amber and then I would give them a few more days , just when the tops started to shrivel I would cut them down. This way I waited as long as I dared.

I also have too much money rapt up in this, which ended up with one female, to buy one of those expensive magnifiers.

No, your not the only 1 without a scope. I'm on my first grow and cut my first 1 yesterday. I waited untill I noticed the bud go from the light green to a dark. IMO even though it's your first time it's pretty obvious when the change happens. Good luck on your harvest!:eyesmoke:

if you cannot obtain $15 to be 100% sure your plant is ready to harvest you should probably find a new hobby. Come on guys honestly u spend months and months of hard work, spend money on lights venting fans ac scissors nutes soil whatever, and then skimp out and be a cheap ass at the most crucial part? u can do it without a scope but why spend all that money and not get exactly what your looking for...

I have spent Just about $700. just on my Veg equipment and set up, another $53. just yesterday on my cloneing supplies, and I plan on another 600-700 for my flower set up next month.
After all that I do not know if I will have $15 for a scope, I might have to do it the old fashioned way. ;-)

can anyone post a thread with pics of a bud from start to finish. the same bud, from the same angle every few days or every week. That might help people know what to expect if they are just eyeing it up.

You can see when the leaf close to the bud that looks like it has all those crystals. Which also look like little legs all over your leaf. They change from an crystal like look to a amberish looking brown to them. Plus the leaf that grows so tightly has begin to look popcorny, just hold on for the amber coler to the crystal looking legs.

hell scopes are 10 bucks at radio shack one good plant produces hundreds or thousands of dollars something to consider. if you harvest to late quality suffers harvest to early and quality really suffers. i would recommend 70 to 90 brown pistils before harvest i would really recommend a trich scope after a while you get an eye for when there done but a scope helps you learn this.

peculiar signs? when the plant looks absolutely 100% ready to be smoked you can surely cut it down, right? If you want a sign, when its turning brown and starting to die. Or stop feeding it and use plain water when you think it looks really sticky and trichomy but the trichomes are kinda browny / amber instead of all white and then harvest when the leaves are yellowing if u want a good body high bud.

that magnifier shit ya dont want to hear bout is the most straight forward sure way to tell seen,,,i dont kno who ya will have to fuck to get 15 dollars for that magnifing glass but i would start looking....when your pistles are 70% brown ure prob passing the ishens peak so .....
