Is it worth $50 to you?

Would you donate $50 to a legalization effort that might actually work?

This brings up an interesting thought. Of course it might deserve it's own thread. If weed was legal, where do you think the price will stabilize? I'm talking 100% legal where you are allowed to grow yourself just like tomatoes out back but you will have large commercial growers supplying the retail outlets like liquor stores are now (maybe the Dam's coffee shops would be a good example but less regulated who and where they buy from). Heck, maybe in some areas we can get it at the local farmer's market like every other piece of produce.
No one can really predict what the prices will be like. Theres gonna be some companies pumping out massive amounts of average weed, then theres gonna be the companies putting out super high grade product. If it was 100% legalized all out the only thing to really determine price will be quality. People will be Forced to come out with stronger bud, theres going to be so much going around that there will always be a supply, the new demand will be for better product.

I think the prices would slowly and steadily decline over the first few years until some big suppliers get established. But theres always going to be those people willing to pay more for better weed, I know I would. :eyesmoke:

I agree. I bet you will start seeing patents though commercial breeders and it might limit genetic diversity so the small grow ops will still be the ones producing the highest quality. I can see the trade more similar to cigars and wine, beer and coffee. There will always be cheap crap to buy but also connoisseur level which you will pay a premium for. My neighbor only smokes shwag, not even mids. They buy enough at one time that they could afford the better stuff but for some reason they think they are getting a better deal buying low potency, head-ache inducing crap because they get so much of it compared to the dank.
I've gently brought up how paying only 3 or 4 times the price they are paying could get them 10 times the amount of THC but it doesn't sink in. I could have some good customers right next door if they'd be willing to pay a bit more (I usually smoke them up and leave some with them for free anyway. Their good neighbors but if I sold them my stuff a cheap as their willing to pay, they would know I'm growing :-(

Absolutely...

That's what I"m thinkin. The growers here could make a killing on the 'high brow high' market with top quality weed sold legally. Sure it probably wouldn't be $150 a quarter, but it'd still make good money for basically growing a plant.

I'm afraid that if legalization does happen, then in time it will only be profitable to grow outdoors because of the dropping prices.
That would intern only allow seasonal growing (where I am).
The electrical cost from indoor growing may cut into the profits of the outdoor growing, Forcing people to only grow outdoors.
And this type of growing would be easier accesable to crooks and thieves, We all don't live on tons of land, my neighbors can see into my yard and the town doesnt' allow fencing over 4 ft". At lease indoors I can prevent that better. It's hard to throw an alarm up around your whole back yard. Watch dogs could easily be poisened and the privacy is almost gone as well.
I sounds great on paper, untill you get your hard worked on crops stolen by some asshole in the middle of the night. Or infested by bugs, eaten by deer or killed off by a Jelous neighbor. It's all possible.

These are just some things that I think about. I don't want anyone to have to be without a medican that helps them with pain. I want people to be able use this drug as they see fit.. I just see alot of problems that havent been addressed and would like to see them discused before everyone and the mother makes a decision without weighing out all the options..

....Whats wrong with that?

If your worried about prices dropping you will have to learn to grow some better weed.

At least quote the entire thing.
The price drop is the least of my concerns that I had listed.

My main concerns are the Privacy issues.

Don't You get to a point where your weed doesn't get much better. I can't make it much stronger then it is. Now, its the quantity we need to try to increase.

There is never going to be enough Top Quality weed. Period. If it gets legalized theres going to be companies pumping out massive amounts of average weed (like cigarettes or cigars) But there will ALWAYS be the connoisseur market looking for the New "best of the best"

If you can't grow better weed come up with something new. Cross some strains and create something only You have. Im sure if it gets legalized a lot of seed companies will start putting patents on their genetics so only they can grow and sell them.

How does the whole "precsrpiction weed" thing work. Do you get a limit to grow each month based on what the doctor prescribes or what? Also, do the pharmacys give you weed as a script? If so, what kind, how much?
well, you see a doc, if deemed worthy, you get it, you go to a med shop and buy your meds, all kinds, all prices, and you can grow 6 plants at a time, i think!

I know what your saying about them flooding the market with shit weed. I think Growing some dank as bud would be the only way to compete with that.

If the seed companys start Patenting thier genetics, then we would be in the shit...
Imagion getting into legal trouble for growing weed legally because someones claiming it's their strain. What are they gonna do, have forensics scientists test all our shit??
What a mess that would be.
