Is It Soup Yet?

Hi All - Hydro/DWC - First Grow. First flowering. By my calc 6-7wks and getting alot of orange hairs now. Did what I expect to be the final feeding 850 PPM in prep for flushing next week I guess. Hoping I haven't miss counted and am going beyond ripe date. I was hoping for a swell by now but no such luck. Would appreciate the forums opinion on readiness to flush/harvest. 1 Master Kush and 1 Blackberry put in Flower on Dec 6th, PH 6.0. AN Jungle Juice Nutes up to 1600 PPM til last water change. Thanks for all input.

Those at the very least have 3 weeks IMO probably more. I have found that breeders packing and estimate flowering time are very optimistic. I personally don't flush and do a DWC system as well, but that is for another forum.

Agreed that those still have a lot of time left.

Wait until all hairs are orange and have pulled back into the buds.

They look like they are nutrient burnt. Why 1600 ppm isn't 1200 high enough?

Just went with the measurements on the back of Jungle Juice Nutes for that stage of flower and that's where PPMs ended up. They were drinking about 1/2 gallon water a day but PPM weren't changing. They are under 1000 since water change 3 days ago. Showing no signs of resentment so far. I figure I will not feed again before harvest. I'll just continue to top off water and PH til she zero's out and call that a flush. But as always, I'm guessing and open to suggestions from the more experienced farmers in the forum. Much Thanks.

Forgot to mention, looking great. They will fill in the next 2 weeks and swell up soon. My rule of thumb for first growers is wait till you think they are completely done, then wait 10 days. Good grow man!

I definitely would not stop feeding them now. They still need nutrients.

Just an update since the girls are ambering up on the hairs. I don't have a loupe yet to check trichomes. Wanna make sure I'm not missing their ripe time??? Put in flower 12/7 so they are at day 49 minus 7 days transition puts em at 6 weeks by my calculation. 1st set of pics is Master Kush. 2nd set of pics is Blackberry Kush. Both vegged 7 weeks. How much longer do you guys think??? Both drinking about 1/2 gallon of water a day or 2 now. (Better pics hopefully this time...) Still waiting on the swell?????

Thanks Sworth! I've been nervous with all the ambering but no swell yet. Ordered a loupe, patiently waiting to be able to see the trichs....

Don't stress, it's all downhill from here.
It seems to take an age for trichomes to turn amber, and the plant looks like it's stopped any visible growing, so it can feel like you're waiting for nothing lol!
But I try to remember, top chefs don't take a cake out of the oven 10 minutes before it's ready, and what's of more importance; cake or herb?

finally seeing just a bit of amber trichs. hoping to cut in 1wk. leaves are yellowing now and falling off. No more nutes, just water topping til done. PPMs around 1000. It is day 63 flower. still hoping she swells...

Any best practice on cutting: whole bush and hanging upside down with leaves OR hanging by branch taking off fan leaves? I've read 5 days dry time then trim and bag or jar when she snaps but doesn't break. Set me straight guys. I didn't come this far to blow it now...

Their looking great! if you can see the amber trichs already they are probably ready to cut! Everyone has their own method for drying but it sounds like you've got your stuff down!

Thanks Guys - I just got a loupe and tried to capture it. Check out the pics on "Harvesting/Curing" thread under "Help Me Read the Trichs" thread. I have hard time distinguising clear/cloudy (dunno why) but I can definitely see a few amber here and there no doubt with x60 scope! Off to study how to dry and cure the right way...
