Is it smart to store FRESH CUT Nugs in the fridge to dry at a later time?

I have a ton of dry crop curing, and more than I need.... So I dont want to dry these others out too, since I'm sure that they will dry out too soon before i get rid of it all... Never had this much..... Or would it be better to just semi dry them and leave them with about 25% humidity and put them in the fridge?.... Or should I Put them in the fridge for storage AFTER it is dry and cured? .... How long will it last nice and dry/moist?....

Or would FRESH CUT nug in the fridge rot like lettuce and such? :/...... didnt think about that, and I dont think its a good idea to freeze it, huh?

Dry and cure, THEN store it. Weed can be kept for a good amount of time if kept in the right conditions. Trying to maintain the moisture in a now dead bud in my eyes is just screaming for a case of mould.

I don't get it. Why would you think that leaving it undried would improve preservation? It wouldn't. Dry it and cure it when it's ready, or don't grow it.

long term storage is ursually fine in jars from what ive heard. you get to a point and only have to open the jars every so often, eventually around once a month or even less. Just to be safe id keep a close eye on them

I have like 2 month old (cured) Pineapple Express, and it is super dry already.... And me being from south tex, ppl here really dont know much about weed other than brick packed mex.... So everything to them that is nice and crystally is considered "dro" even tho if it's outdoor crop...(to my advantage :D)... But if it's crispy, they dont like it, plus it loses alot of weight by the time its gone... plus, when it gets super dry, alot of the trich heads fall off when handling the in the jars...

The plants are more than ready to be harvested..... Was thinking, maybe if i stored them fresh frozen, and dried at a later time, that they would last longer, but yea.... mold made sense while thinkin about it, and writing this.... But I'm still gonna try it with 2 oz's or so and see.... was also thinking that its good to use to mix in with dry nugs to make them moist again, and not have to use fruit n such...... I know it's a bunch of nonsense, but i'll experiment... lol

Id dry em out and cure for a bit and vacume seal that shit. Buddy of mine n cali found his parents stash. They had gotten it 6+ months b4 hand and his dad vacume sealed it. Broke that shit open and it was well kept and still really strong. Vacume seal and store n fridge

As smokie mentioned, I think it would be a good idea to dry, cure, then vacuum seal it and then store it in the fridge or even freezer. I once read that you can store them in the freezer without any bad effects. Look at food for instance, we can store it in the freezer only to thaw it at a later date without any ill effects, unless you have frozen beef in there for over a year. I'd advise not to eat frozen beef that's beef frozen that long lol. You could probably vacuum seal it before it's dried and then freeze it, and it would probably stay fairly fresh. Once the item becomes frozen, you are basically stopping any aging process, degradation process, stopping the break down of organic material, etc. etc. You are basically stopping time. If it works with meat then it should work with buds. For an item to degrade it needs several things, acid, time, temperature, oxygen, and moisture. By vacuum sealing you are cutting off the oxygen to it, by freezing it you are cutting off the moisture and you are cutting off the temperature, and ultimately slowing down the time.

I would try it and see what happens, but I would dry, cure, vacuum seal then freeze. Another thing to keep in mind is that when you freeze something that still has moisture in it you are creating ice crystals inside the item that is frozen. By creating these ice crystals you will puncture holes in the cells inside the item. I think that if you are puncturing holes in the cells of the bud it would cause damage. Also, lol, by taking out the moisture of something you can prolong the time it's viable just like how jerky is dehydrated. Can't grow bacteria without moisture.

Sorry for the rambling but it's something I have been thinking about myself.

If yo weed is too dry and you aint got no fresh green leaf try a flour tortilla, its moist enough to make the weed not so crispy but doesnt change taste, like an orange peel or lettuce....jus dont leave it in the bag too long and check it every hour or so.

And yes its VERY bad to put fresh cut nugs in the frigde, dry & cure it and remoisten with tortilla if needed.

When I used to see news footage of police busting grow ops, many times they would find bags of tortillas. I always though they were eating them. Now I think maybe they were keeping their buds moist!lol!

P.S. The cheap corn tortillas work also!;-)

if ur budz crispy its cause u arnt drying it right the whole point of drying and curing is to slowly dry the bud so its not crispy id suggest u look up drying and curing methods lol and if u dont dry it and store it in the fridge its gonna get moldy and no one will want it not to mention when u cure ur increasing potency....
