Is it really legit?

Hey all hows every thing? So My friend (who has his medical) wants to start growing because he cant afford to keep going to over priced co-ops any more. Only problem is he doesnt have a clue how to grow weed properly. I on the other hand do, so we talked and i agreed to be his caregiver. Now we live in CA in the bay area SanFran to be exact. We looked at a hand book that has all the CA mmj laws and it says that there is no formal system in place for appointing caregivers; and that all that has to happen for this to be legit is for the patient to draft up a document stating that he the patient appoints me his care giver. This all sounds a bit too easy

From what i've read and heard, in CA you can get a grow license. I'd try looking into that a bit. Aside from that i'm stuck, sadly sober in missouri. Wish i could help more and best of luck!

Sadly, the west coast has had more luck legalizing than the rest of the country. In the mid-west, head shops are scarce and the supply is even worse.

i also would like to know about this subject, and what steps you have to take. i know a lot of med pacients who dont grow. i would love to be a caregiver. i think i heard somewhere that u cant be a caregiver to more than three people and they all have to contribute someway or another. not sure, but i think i read that somewhere

i have seen you ask this several times why dont you go to whatever office you have to to find out in real life instead of the internet. it is legal right there where you are. get off your ass and go ask someone whos responsible for explaining this procedure to people rather than asking multiple times on the internet.

I have gotten off my ass you prick wad. I got the state guide line hand book and it states that there is no formal registration system in place in CA for caregivers. All you have to do is draft up a document between you the caregiver and your patient stating that your patient appoints you his caregiver. This all sounds a little to easy and im wondering if any one else has had any experience with this subject. Sorry didnt know there was a limit to how many times i can ask a question.

If the state guide line hand book states that there is no formal registration system in place in CA for caregivers and all you have to do is draft up a document between you the caregiver and your patient stating that your patient appoints you his caregiver then... Do it! GL

Being from a legal state I know you need to be legal yourself. READ the definition of a care giver. DUH...MMMMM...AAASSSSS. This doesn't sound like you anyway and I doubt your wiping your friends ass for him ( unless you're doing it after butt sex) being from the bay area and all. Yes, you will go to prison ( like everybody else that thinks a letter will do the trick) You need to be licensed to be legal.. Check the web page post below.. Educate yourself before you FUCK UP THINGS FOR THOSE THAT ARE LEGAL.

A primary caregiver is a person who consistently assumes the responsibility for the housing, health or safety of the applicant (patient). This may be an individual or the owner, operator or employee of an appropriately licensed clinic, facility, hospice, or home health agency. As a primary caregiver you cannot apply for a card for yourself. Your patient must apply for you. Your responsibilities are:

  • Provide proof of identity. See “Proof of Identity” under “Applicant(Patient) Responsibilities.”
  • Be prepared to be photographed. See “County Program Photographing” under “Applicant(Patient) Responsibilities.”
  • Complete and sign the “Primary Caregiver Declaration” portion of the Application/Renewal Form.
  • If you work for more than one qualified patient you must reside in the same county.
  • If you no longer work for a qualified patient, you must return your MMIC for confidential destruction to the county program that issued the card to you.
