is it possible to change from soil to hydro?

i have a plant i didnt think was going to make it on my back porch that i would like to move into my hydro set up. its about 11 inches tall and has been grown in soil since germination. is there an way thati can transfer it over from soil to hydro without causing too much stress, or hurting the plant?

Short answer yes. There will be a period of shock but it will bounce back. Will also prob dirty up your set up a bit. Just get as much dirt out of the root mass as possible, then spray excess off gently.

I just did that very thing and my plants are bumping, I do it all the time. I got two plants in my tote right now ready to harvest that I just "teabagged" 3 or four times, left a lotta soil media on em, and plunked um in my netpots along with my other plants.

just transfered it over. i dunked, then gently sirled the water around the roots with the hose from the sink. cleaned off most the soil media. looks pretty stressed, but thats to be expected i presume.
