Is it ok to use Red spectrum CFL's for veg?

I was browsing thru SeeMoreBud's book and I don't remember any info about the spectrum of CFL's he was using. But from the pics it looks like they are all soft white??

I was wondering what the effects of using all Red spectrum 2500-3000K CFL's would be on the veg period of the plants? Since they are only going to be about 16-20 days of vegging, does it make that much difference?

Do I need to buy 6 or so blue spectrum 6500K CFL's for veg and then switch em all out to red spectrum CFL's when flowering starts?

Thanks - I'm a doob noob

No the difference in spectrums is minimal as cannabis can quite happily thrive in either or...

cannabis has different photoreceptors that react differently to the varying spectrums.

In short you will be fine.

Hey -

I just read in Cervante's book that using red spectrum lights in veg will make the distance between nodes bigger. Hopefully it won't make that big of a difference with the low veg time tho....
