Is it ok to start seeds in Jiffy Cups?

I've had many successful, but slow germinations using rockwool, rapid rooters jiffy pellets, and all using the papertowel method for germination, but this time i'm planting directly into soil, and I would like to determine the sex before I transplant them into their 2 gallon soil pots, and i've seen people germinating autoflowers in red or blue party cups, and I thought I could reduce transplant shock and put them directly down in the soil. Jiffy cups supposedly allow roots to grow through the peat moss they are created in, but I don't want the roots to curl or get rootbound in the jiffy cup.

Is it ok to start seeds in jiffy cups and transplant into large pots later without worrying about them getting rootbound?

FYI: I'm using Fox Farm Ocean Organic for both processes.

I've done them several times with success. I've heard some do and some don't though.
IMO you want to keep the peet moist to let the roots penetrage easily to the soil

Thank you for responding with your experience; I too was also thinkinging that the peat moss cups should be moist to allow roots to penetrate easier. Thanks bro; MUCH appreciated! I'll update this thread with pictures in the coming weeks as my autoflowers take root. Thanks! +rep

I have used them peat cups before and grew some beautiful girls with em. I like that they can go right into the soil when its time. But I did not like the fact that they dry up quickly
