is it bad to have the light on while its hanging and drying?

you sld not be having a light on during drying and it deff should not be dryed in either veg/flower rooms.

I have read that it is bad. I think you want a cool and dark place. And not conducive to mold.

A cool DARK place is needed for drying... The slower you dry your herbs the better they taste. If you have a light on in your dry room it will speed up the drying process.

Hence no light, no heat, and minimize fresh air.(jar or box or contained space during curing)

yes it is bad. I'm told direct light deteriorates THC.

I read today that a small amount of indirect light is good...

The light and heat will destroy THC and other goodies. Keep in a dark an area about 70 degrees with 40-60 relative humidity

While light does degrade THC, I doubt that your crop will be degraded to any extent that anyone would ever notice in the time it takes to cure. I would be more worried about air movement - you will more likely get mold in a stagnant room.
