Apple says there are now more than 1 billion active iPhones, an enormous milestone for the company that speaks to the phones’ continued success and longevity. There are now 1.65 billion Apple devices in active use overall, Tim Cook said during Apple’s earnings call this afternoon.

My (almost 70 year old) wife has got in the habit of covering her breasts with her hands when we kiss. I told her I'm just showing my love. She says I'm just a horn dog and leave her boobs alone unless she ask me not to. But then we have got to the point that oral sex for us talking dirty.

China just wants to trade. Its lifted a huge % out of poverty. It sees the west as threatening. Remember Trump and his stupid trade war? Under Obama and previous presidents China/West relations have been good. Australia's PM's also got on well with Xi and his predecessors.

Lots of debt and nationalism going silly round the world ATM. Which is never good as it drives war and the doomsday clock backwards.

The inflation we've seen over the past three years was due to the supply chain being disrupted by the Covid pandemic followed by Putin's invasion of Ukraine that disrupted grain and energy supplies. People stopped buying shit for about two years during the pandemic and the supply chain could not keep up with pent up demand when economies opened back up. You can't blame people for wanting to buy shoes after being pent up for a couple of years.

Your post made an ignorant statement. You probably don't know that the median wage earner makes about $35,000/yr. Median and low wage earners were barely able to make ends meet before prices rose faster than wages did. That's not enough to pay for the minimum cost of food, shelter, clothing, and transportation, with healthcare out of their reach. Those are necessities, not something they can just not do. It's ridiculous to say they should stop buying shit. Those making 60k or more, yes, they might be able to stop buying shit but that would crash our economy and wouldn't affect worldwide inflation one bit. Because it isn't due to people buying shit.
IDK. we saw a 100% plus increase in house prices pre covid to end of 2022. My place went from being worth about 350k to 800's.
People are Still buying shit. I cant talk as i just booked a holiday..but yea people have not slowed their spending. Well enough people haven't slowed their spending. Im sure a good % are doing it tough and will be in dire financial straights.
