Is Cali Still Flooded?

man i took my shit in it beet alot of thier top shelf i do a method that gets you buds stacked in thc also its all meat no flarf but bad in no mother fucken manner,
Yes, definitely no fluff or tiny buds. Flarf will often devalue your pack more than the weight it adds. Might as well keep it and smoke it or make it into concentrates. I've got a big plastic storage bin with a bunch of holes somewhere between the size of a dime and a nickle drilled into the bottom of it. I pour my pack into that and anything that falls through the holes gets pulled out of the pack. Too much stem (buds not broken down enough) will devalue your pack too.

When comparing your stuff to theirs, it should be compared to the following attributes in this order:

1) bag appeal. This is the single most important quality to all dispensaries more important than everything else combined. Bud size, coloration, tight trim, etc
2)smell/taste. If you're using heavy nuts in your grow flush that shit really really long and good before harvesting.
3) thc/cannabinoid content

Don't compare the best bud in your pack to the display sample. Compare it to the average bud in your pack. In fact you might want to compare it to the worst bud in your pack, because the buyer will.

Time to figure out how to genetically alter the plant to make the buds blood red with like 25% thc to take it to the next level....lol.

Sounds like shit is rough....but I still plan on building my grow. Worse case scenario I have to find out how to smoke 4# a month.

once everything is dialed in that's what it looks like. We shall see. My company is number 1 priority...but growing is kind of a passion.

Still in the planning stage. I'm still on the other side of the country. I touch down in california in exactly 8 days and will be taking a trip to the DMV, mmj doctor and hydro store within the first week of being there.

Plan is 4 4x8 flood tables for flower with 1200 watts over each table...and then 2 600 watts in a 4X8 for veg. Wanna harvest 12 plants every 2 weeks. Still trying to figure out what strain....gonna have to go cruise around and see what clones are available. Just doing it for the fun of it man. Up untill now all I've had was a DR120 with 1000 watt light....time to step it up and put together my dream grow.

hmmm. So I take it 12 plants per table then. So each plant would need to harvest about 2.5 - 3 oz to get that. Which would be about .75g/w I like the way that sounds, I was looking at 8 plants under a 1000w but the 600s will be easier to cool and distribute light over more area.

Yeah that's the plan sir. I figure this way the plants have plenty of room to grow...and I'm not aiming for super high numbers. Going to be using CO2 but don't know how much that will help for the first few months until i get the feel of the room.

Phish,

Bro i am happy its your hobby...

However, even in CA pulling 12 plants every 2 weeks is a commercial grow OP in the eyes of LE so yano...

A hobby grow would b like 6 or less plants every 4 months...

What your aiming to build, in your denial, is a $ making operation!:-?

That or YOU smoke more herb than any human being on the planet imho!:o

Look bro 6 plants w 3 to 4 oz a plant is 18 to 24 oz a pull that is a lb + everytime...

4 plus lbs a year for personal smoke is fine!:weed:

Now, what your attempting is a perpetual cycle pulling that same # of lbs every 2 weeks...:-o

That is poundage bro and without a legitimate place to grow and sell it you are asking for trouble...:spew:

Juss move here, enjoy the girls, the sun and grow your own but don't try and be a player!:hump:

This scene is to big for that you will get devoured by the system...

If i am wrong bout your intentions I am sorry irieite!:-|

I juss don't want to see another outta stater get destroyed in SoCal!:joint:

Yeah man I mean obviously I'm going to have some extra I will need to get rid of but I'm also growing for me and the 4 other people I live with so It's not like I'm just over here growing for profit. Whatever I make off of the overage will be to cover my costs. And who knows man...maybe some day down the road I'll try to throw a little collective together. I'm already going to have to get office space now that I need to hire more people....I could just get space with some warehouse space attached to it and kill 2 birds with one stone....but that will be way down the line from here. Right now I'm just trying to have fun and in my mind its go big or go home. I'm aware that LEO can be total dicks even if i'm within my limits for 5 people....but the plan is to treat it like I'm still in an illegal state and keep it stealthy and not run around telling everyone I meet in cali that I grow pot.

Collective conscious apothecary has a quantcann from Steep Hill. When you vend there they run your bud before buying to get the #s. Other than them most buyers dont know the THC% until after purchase.

And some purp will go a long way, still.

Whoa, we got some cart before the horse stuff going on here. I LOVE it how folks count chickens before even buying the coop. lol newb moves. I suggest not focusing on your weight, if that is ever a problem it will solve itself. You have yields estimated before even figuring out your methods. SFV Kine hit the nail on the head, you are planning a commercial op. It ain't that easy. You will mostly likely be buying cuts (diseased), and you will see the issues with perpetual harvesting very quickly. Hope you are ready for the borg. When you constantly have flowering plants, you can't get rid of it.

Matt completely understood man. I'm not expecting or counting on anything from the beginning. Just saying that down the road I'll have lots of left overs that I surely won't be able to handle all by myself. The only reason I'm doing perpetual is so 3 months from now I don't have 72 plants that I have to trim and then I'm stuck with WAY more weight then I want sitting around in my house.

Basically what I was trying to get across was that down the road.....once everything is put together and everything is dialed in and I have a feel for the room....2 1/2 - 3 oz per plant shouldn't be unattainable. I have NO intentions of coming out and just growing a shit ton of pot purely from profit. I had already planned on moving to cali so I can cover the west coast as far as business relations with auction companies since we only have a presence on the east coast. It just so happens that me, my fiance and my employees all benefit from a good smoke.

No idea why I'm trying to justify my actions right now...just don't want people to think that I'm some kid with his head in the clouds thinking I'm going to move to cali and get rich off of the mmj industry.

As Matt says, don't count the chickens just yet. If you do, I promise you will be disappointed.

I'd advise against doing a table with only 2 600w covering a 4x8. That is insufficient. At best you'll probably end up with tiny buds everywhere. At worst you're going to end up with huge sections of your table that end up producing nothing but fluff. It's simply an insufficient amount of light to cover that area. You need either 3 600w or better yet 2 1Kw with magnum XXL (or similar) hoods.

You can veg with 2x 600w over a 4x8, but you don't want to flower like that.

I flower 2 6s over a 4x8. its aight. shorter plants are key.

The plan was to have only 6 plants per 4X4 area....so 12 plants on a 4X8 with 600 watts per 6 plants. But if you think 600 watts wont work I can look into 1000 watt lights. Gonna be taking a trip to the hydro store in 2 weeks to pick up most of what I need but I know I'll forget a bunch of small things. I've got a pretty good chunk of change put aside and will be grabbing more stuff over the next few months. I don't want to get in over my head or get myself into any trouble.

The odds of getting .75g/w the first time expanding to a bigger system than what you're used to is very slim especially if at the same time you're growing a strain you have no experience with. A realistic goal for a first run would be .5g/w.

When I first expanded into my new system it took me over a year to get above .5g/w. I had some disaster harvests where I didn't even yield enough to cover expenses.

It seems like it should be simple enough. You've done a few smaller scale grows very successfully and are getting consistent results, so doing a bigger grow should just be a matter of reproducing what you're doing on a larger scale, right? Wrong. It doesn't work that way. I thought it did, but it didn't. I actually yielded significantly less even though I was using better equipment in a more optimal environment. Financially I barely survived my first big expansion. A lot of people don't make it through that though.

It'll most likely take a solid year if not longer to produce good results after an expansion like that. You may have a successful crop here or there but it will be hit or miss for a while. And perpetual grows have their own issues which add difficulty.

I use 2 plants per 600w. so 5 plants for a 4x8 space under 2x 600w. I yield the same as my buddy who throws 18 girls under 2x 600w.

If you have the Space, getting a Gram/Watt is very easy. getting over a gram per watt is not too hard.. Simply add more plants around your lighting, they may not get the best light if any, but sure enough they will bud.. & even fluffy bud is bud. <3
That will easily knock you over the gram/watt ratio.

Yeah but quality > quantity. And luckily my financial well being isnt effected by a poor harvest since all of my income comes from my current job. Luckily I make enough that an increase in the electric bill wont effect me at all either. I know generally the problem you guys run into alot with new folks is they come on here with pipe dreams of spending their life savings on growing equipments and hitting it big. I also don't expect .75 g per watt right off the bat because I know the learning curve will be huge. I'm going to be using a new soilless mix...new nutrients...strains I've never had experience with....but over time things will get better...and that's the goal.

IMO you'll be much better off with either 2 1k w lights or 3 600w per 4x8. Don't think about it in terms of how many plants each light will cover, but in terms of how many SQ ft of canopy each light will cover.

I check my light coverage with a quantum meter and with 600w there is a SIGNIFICANT drop off in light 18" down and a few feet to the side. I can actually take pictures of what the readings are for 2 600w lights covering a 4x8 table are if you are interested.
