Sadly, that would be a federal offense.
it's funny how the laws are here. we can grow it. but its illegal to sell it. even dispensaries are not legit, and that actually leaves a nice paper trail to you. if you don't believe it think about what just went down in san jose. the good ones like harborside had to pull out because they are going after dispensary vendors using confiscated info. pretty fucked. makes the whole dispensing/vendor thing even harder, which hits the commercial side of MMj. This takes money from political contributions ect. It's still a war on drugs, and MMj is included in that as the war is federal, and cannabis is still a damn schedule 1 drug with no medical value.

Meanwhile we got so much outdoor out here that the indoor is piling up. Shit just don't make sense. At least oakland dropped the giant warehouses. Just what we need is tons of crappy weed.

Matt, What's the scoop on the proposed warehouses of Oakland? They "dropped" them? Do you know what happened? If this is true, I'm breathing a sigh of relief. That whole deal was looking like the first step to squeezing us out of the legal picture.

no, and no. had to quit working as a budtender (with insurance) so i could get my hustle on. not enough hours in the day to garden, eat, smoke, fuck, play, hustle, AND work. "this 9-5 life aint for me" natural black

I'm trying to get on your level as soon as the wife gets in to nursing school. I rather work part time or no time. Growing and learning is my passion but working 9-5 doesn't let me.

The fed came out and told oakland not to do it. Pretty clear message. They listened. Honestly, I think Oakland put the cart before the horse on that one. They thought 19 would pass and they would be ahead of the other commercial interests. Instead... just confusion. Agreed. Eff commercial cannabis production, we have plenty to go around already.

had to risk leaving my chef job to take the dispensary job for way less pay. being single means I get to do shit like that. :) I freaked out on the dispensary for promoting me three times without a pay raise, quit, and instantly got a job teaching for oaksterdam. not the average tale.

if yall are sitting on so much bud why not low ball it just to move product? at least yall are still making 100% profit from it and its not sitting around. (does bud expire, like other produce?) and when i say low ball i dont mean low ball like crazy but at least a reasonable number just to get rid of it? if not it just seems like an abundance of product sitting around. and seems to kinda hold yall back?

100% PROFIT MY ASS! You must not grow. I can bring in 4200 an elbow but each elbow cost me up to 1000 dollars to grow. Thats more like %75 profit, but the little guys come back and show me how they double that and bring in over 7k each. Thats a lot of 20 and 40 bags.

If people unload for cheap it will lower prices in other areas, causing most in the industry to lose money, except the little guys. They can still sell it at 20 a gram lol

Also all that overstock isnt gonna go bad if its properly packaged. Which im pretty sure most of it is. So when the feds decide to take out another huge operation, that overstock is gonna come in handy.

Dont legalize! Decriminalize!

you really most not grow. pounds cost money to make and trim. time is money. there is only one outdoor harvest a year*, everything revolves around that. holding pounds is a good strategy for folks who aren't broke asses.

*post edit: one major outdoor, the off season harvests are much smaller

even if there was no overhead on each pound, there is still personal time invested. amazing weed doesnt grow itself, it requires attentive care and experience.

time = $$$

remember, EVERYONE can grow weed. but, NOT EVERYONE can grow weed.

Growing is my job...a tax paying job, to boot. My co op sends me an IRS 1099 form every year for the amount I was compensated to manage the garden. I pay taxes on that amount, Remember how they got Capone?
I pay for my own health insurance for my wife and I...and I pay too much, just like the "normal job" people. The nature of running a medium/large indoor grow op doesn't allow me much vacation time. So, no winters in the South Pacific for us. Sometimes I don't want to go to work (like the normal people), but do it anyways because people depend on me (just like they depend on normal job folk). I do enjoy my work, make a decent living, and feel good about providing something that helps so many people. Are we so abnormal?

Hate to beat a dead horse, but this horse needs another whack. My brothers have already mentioned the yearly production costs. Here's some costs I incurred while outdoor growing:

An entire crop stolen while it hanged to dry. 100K Gone. A whole season with not one cent.

The first several attempts to grow for $$$ screwed up by my lack of experience. 3 trips to Amsterdam and 1000's of dollars spent only to grow bad weed that couldn't be sold for what I had into it.

Unseasonal rain causing severe bud rot and destroying 80% of my crop. Once again...costs recovered, but no profit.

And I won't even get into the day that the DEA arrived.

100% profit, eh?

Thank you guys for not "low balling". As long as the end user price stays the same, so should yours.
