Is Cali Still Flooded?

my old partner and i had a legal grow in colorado as care givers for a long time until hb 1284 put us out of business, sure aint new to the whole growin thing and i know the standard of quality is high (lol). we have about 50k to get started and are thinking something in the northern section semi remote. I know the gold rush is long over but I'm fine with producing some nice stuff and sitting on it until the 5 month good section of the year to sell. I'll be happy with 1600-2000 a pack for outdoor and 3200 for indoor. i realize these could drop to a few hundred lower but thats fine

we also have the option of shipping east as i know plenty of people who would love that but I'm not very worried about us doing fine in state

I know you guys already there don't want the competition and how flooded the market is and I'm sorry if I'm going to contribute to that, but I have a real love growing and I can't wait to be back at it. I have the patience and discipline to make it work, as long as I can make my living from growing that is what I'm going to do. I know its flooded but theres still enough room to live comfortably.

well my version of comfortable is pretty low cost

I do not live in Cali so I am not there to experience it first hand. But how are you guys saying, "the gold rush is over". I know several people out in cali who are getting rid of B grade indoor for 2700-3000 no problem.

Most semi experienced growers can get 1 gram per watt with out even breaking a sweat, 12 1000 watters on perpetual, 1 harvest a month on one 6 light room would yield 6,000 grams per month. So thats around 13 pounds a month give or take, 13 x $2700 = $35,100....lets say minus 6k for expenses (which is super high, your only looking at a $1200-2k a month electric bill) and your pulling down $29,000 a month. Sure your not buying mansions and lambos with your measly 29k a month, but you are getting by.

so why does everyone on here always say "gold rush is over".......

I have been going around to all the clubs (over 50 of them) in the greater Sacramento area the last three weeks. I have a large selection of indoor and outdoor weed and I have been trying to see which clubs can tell the difference and also what they will pay for various quality of buds.

First off - there is no more dry season! It now goes from Super Flooded to normal Flooded.

And as for getting 1600 - 2000 a pound for outdoor......maybe a year or two ago! As of right now anything that looks outdoor quality you might be offered 800 - 1000. Anything that looks like mid level indoor I get offers from 2000 - 2600 tops. The very top shelf uber bud (elite strain grown to perfection) still commands a good price 2800 - 3500.

What really sucks is the end users price is still the same as its always been 35 - 55 an 1/8. Its the vendors that have really been feeling the crunch.

I predict the mid level to low end will continue to fall in price. Too many people can produce that kind of weed. But I think the very high end will maintain its price or at least be more resistant to change as there are not as many high end growers out there.

Also remember you not only need a really good strain, but the right strain for the area you live in. What they might love in Sacramento they don't care for in the Bay Area and what they like in southern California nobody wants in northern California.

I hope I don't come off too negative....just trying to make a point that it is going to be an uphill battle. Even us "old timers" are finding it a challenge to keep up with a changing market. But if you are really good and know what your doing.....there is always room at the top.

I've said it before but get your product lab tested. It will save you time. It gets nitrogen sealed to preserve freshness. If you pass, you get a list of dispensaries that WANT SafeCannabis™ or at least give preference to it. The lab helps you network. Helps you find more people in the industry. The lab knows people making extracts, and they will take your trim, or maybe an infected harvest. Solvents kill most of the mold spores, so they are more interested in potency testing, and pesticide screening. Tons of stuff you can do. Things are changing for sure. Your time is money.

By the sounds of that mailing will probably be my route, I can at least mail to my broker in co for 3000+ indoor 2000+ outdoor year round or a few people on the east for 4000+ , 2500+

That's not the best idea... Do you know how many assholes grow "OG Kush," sure that shit sells at clubs for a shit ton, but the clubs will buy that for dirt cheap from you, guaranteed.

I never understood, why is there a price difference between indoor and outdoor, and which one is generally more expensive?
