Is a Drip System Necessary after Vegging?

Hey everyone!

I currently built a DIY bubbleponics system and I have used a water pump and a dripper system. It's bee about 3-4 weeks now in the vegging period, I was wondering if I can just disconnect the Drip system/water pump and just convert it to a plain old DWC/bubbleponic system?

Is it imperative that the rockwool (growing medium) remains wet?

The system i'm using is the typical Stealth Bubbleponics system used by Roseman http://www.420magazine.com/forums/bubbleponics/111069-rosemans-bubbleponics-tutorial-sh-kit-diy-7.html

Thanks! I'll be changing my res soon so quick answers are appreciated!

No...The drip system is not required after your babies root. As matter of fact after my clones/seedlings root I pull the drip system out and go with just bubbles. The media you are using should help keep the rockwool moist enough.

Your rockwool should be in the middle of your net pot (if that is what you are using). Your media, hydroton, should be moist from the bubbling action. In turn that will assist in keeping your rockwool moist as well. Once your plants root then that will provide all the Noots and water it needs. My media ( i use hydrton) is moist near the bottom half of the pot while the top half is dryish. I think you will be allrite.

Happy growing!
