Is 70 watts, hps, too much for clones?

Hey All!
I recently took a bunch of clones from my pineapple kush momma, because I'm putting her in flower. I, originally, was going to put them under a 42w cfl but instead, put them under a 70w hps that I set up in a closet. Do you think that's too much light for 12 clones.

should be fine just keep it 2 to 3 inches away

i would would go with the cfl thats just me. clones cant cool there leaves by bring up fresh water. the problem with an hps is that the light it produces is very bright, think of it as "sunburning" your leaves. plants need time to adjust an the lest stress the best. happy growing
