Hey guys im planning for an upcoming grow, and im trying to work out timing and space etc
Im going to be growing in a 1.2 x 1.2 x 2m tent with a 1000w light in a cooltube, and 9 plants in hempy buckets under a scrog screen
So each plant is going to have 40cm x 40cm to flower in. Im growing some indica dom's that flower in 8 weeks, and i can only grow for 13 weeks
So what im asking is 5 weeks enough veg time from seed to get them to fill that space? Im going to be starting them under a 130w cfl on 20/4 for a week or so and then put them under a 600w MH on the same light schedule, (i have a lumatek 1000w digital dimmable ballast i got off ebay for $150au delivered)
Also my goal for this grow is a pound of dried buds, this seems quite reasonable given the conditions, any opinions?
Thanks for any input guys

9 plants is alot, espeically for a scrog set up. The beautiful thing about scrog is that you don't need as many plants to fill the canopy. Also, you won't be able to move them out of the tent once they are woven through the screen, so you'll have to water 9 plants under that screen, and trust me, it is easier said then done. Especially if you need to remove your run off from your saucers after watering(some people need to do this to keep humidity down)

I would do 1, 2, or 4 plants in the space you have. I personally am about to run 4, 3.5gal Hempy buckets in my 4'x4'x7' tent. Remember, more plants(in the same size area) doesn't always mean more yeild. Over crowding your tent will actually decrease your yeild.

Also, pullin a pound in a small tent like we use isn't easy. Strain has a lot to do with this. I would say SCROG is your best bet to reach that benchmark though.

JMHO, keep on growing!

Thanks for the input Squid. but i dont think you're really understanding what im going for. You're absolutely right though, i could scrog 1-4 plants in that area, and it would probably be the best way to acheive max yield, but given my time constraints vegging for that long isnt possible. plus it seems more efficient when you can use more plants and less veg time to achieve close to if not the same results as vegging less plants for longer. And i would also disagree to 9 being too many, given that they wont be vegged too long and trained to stay in their area it should be quite manageable.

Most good strains these days achieve 400+ grams per square meter, The strains im growing are G13 Labs-Blue OG and Female Seeds-Big bud x White widow, they should do quite well given the conditions. If you also take into account the general rule of Grams Per Watt of light, an average grow gets roughly .5, good grows .7, great grows get over one gram per watt. given the 1000w hps i will be using for flower with a quality electronic ballast, even if i achieved .5 GPW i would still break 1 pound. ive seen people get over a pound in the same size tent with 600 watters. Yes i understand its no easy task, but i believe it is well within my reach

What medium do you use in your hempy's? yeah managing the run off is something i havent thought too much about unfortunately.
I was thinking of drilling the hole for overflow and putting a grommet and hose there, so i can focus the drainage into something easier to manage/remove, like a soft drink bottle cut in half etc, any thoughts?
