I forget what it's called, but there's a really cool app where you select the type of food you want and the general price range you're looking for, shake, and it'll give you a randomly selected restaurant in your area with reviews. I've found some pretty cool holes in the wall with this thing.

Pandora is awesome. So is SimpleMedia, I use it to carry my entirely library without having to put anything on my phone :P

Urbanspoon. That's what you're talking about.

TapTap Revenge is cool. It's the iPhone guitar hero, and you can download tracks.

The KGB (Knowledge Generation Bureau) is supposed to come out with an app for iPhone and Blackberry that, from what I'm gathering from the commercials, lets you ask someone on the other end any kind of asinine question you can think of, and they will have an answer. It's not out yet, but I'm looking very forward to it.

Not to shit on your business venture or anything, (and this is of course assuming you're charging for your jail-breaking services) but can't any random idiot use Google and common sense to jailbreak their iPhone?

Yes you can find the basic info but if you are not computer savy you will run into issues,Damage or wipe out you iphones data. And you need to know what to install for what, where to get the IPA files for each app.How to sync them to the device since you cant just sync a "Pirated" IPA ..Yes you could spend days or weeks figureing it all out,it all changes as Apple updates softwares, or have someone do it for ya.I do repairs as well for the cracked front glass and LCDs, homebuttons etc.LOL laugh but it does pretty well for what it is.iPhones are very popular. And easy to break.A None jail broken iphone doesn't compare to a Jail broken one.My opinion,so...Ive done this for my coworkers and friends, fam ya know and have done my girls iphones multiple times..Apple charges $199 flat rate for the same repairs i do.They hate Jail Breaking. They wont help you with your iphone if they see its be modded. But you can always remove the jailbreak if u ever needed to take it in.I was gonna give info to those who wanted it.

But enough about that

I Would trade it all for some lovely plants.....lmao....

Word. Was just interested in your business venture. I had the first iPhone in my city for all of 25 seconds. Camped out all night at the local AT&T, spent most of the time reading reviews for it on my phone, realized how horrible it was, called my cousin and had him meet me down there in the AM and ended up trading him the cost of the iPhone plus his old phone for the iPhone.

Then a year later I bought one again to play poker in class via desktop remote access, but it was horrible even for that, Table Ninja wasn't very effective, and you couldn't multi-table. Owned that for about 3 weeks before I realized how much I hate everything Steve Jobs does and how much I hope his Toyota Prius somehow manages to gain enough speed to kill him in a collision.

I don't know why I never thought about that. I'll definitely have to get that going.

...

I know there are good reasons for jailbreaking, but I'm fine supporting developers. Shit, most of the apps are so ridiculously cheap, it just seems too miserly ripping people off for a measly buck or two. Not that I've never downloaded pirated stuff, but I like to at least try to support smaller bands and developers. I'm sure some of the devs are making some decent money, but even then most of the stuff I've bought seemed way worth the small amount I've paid for it.

Do you download music?

I do. Like I already said, I at least like to support smaller bands by actually paying for their music though. I'm not trying to come off as some moral, preachy, anti-piracy guy or anything. But, I've made my attempts making money off of virtual goods (and mostly failed, unfortunately). I guess I'm sympathetic to people who put a lot of time into something and aren't making a whole lot of money off of it.

And, like I said, I do realize that there are devs of apps who are probably making decent money, but I feel like a bit of a tightwad not wanting to fork over a measly buck or two for a cool app or game. Anyway, I was just throwing in my $.02, more making conversation than trying to convince anyone else to see things my way. It's not something I'm going to lose sleep over.

I guess it does sound silly to have these sort of half-morals where I feel like it's OK to steal from some people, but not others... but whatever, I'm not very logical in this case I suppose.
