Inward Curling leaves having to do with humidity? couldnt be nutes

  • Ive been having the same problem with my babies at first I thought it could be a nute problem but considering I have not started Ferts yet and they have been planted in happy frog soil they should be fine since they are so young. Now I did some interesting reading On a hydroponic site where a gentleman claims the reason why the leaves curl is because the air is either to dry or the soil is to dry. Most likely the air and that the roots can not suck up water fast enough to cure the leaves. where I live it is very dry so the grow rooms humidity level is around 20% so with an HID lamp I can imagine how plants might be burned. I created my own make shift green house around the plants and put the humidifier inside. Otherwise its hard keeping moisture in the air with the exhaust at the top of the room. So far the plants thats leaves were curled are still curled however the new foliage seems not to be curling as bad with the more humidity and the light further from the plants. All let you guys know how it goes. If yall figure anything out let me know as well..​

usually, when the leaves curl up liek that its because of heat stress

when they are too hot they will do that.

also looks liek those curled leaves are dried out too....did you forget to water

what size hid r u using??

if you were using a 400 or somethin and had it too close you would heat them up too much.

if your humidity is that low, you need to get it up.....

depending on your grow spot size, get a bowl or bucket and fill it with water....it will help raise humidity

also depending on ur temps turn the exhaust down so that you can let the room have a bit higher humidity

yes its the humidity. ive been seeing this more and more. and it has also happened to me. get yrself a humidifier for wal mart .$20-$30

IM using a humidifier! when ever the lights are. The plants are being vegged under a 600@ mh and now since ive moved them away from the light their about 24 or 2 ft. away from the light. I use my scrog set up i made and put the plants under it and than covered the frame with a plastic sheet painters use to create a greenhouse more or less. I also stopped using my active air intake as the air in the house is also dry. The exhaust fan is on a thermostat controlled outlet set at 75 all set it up to 80 see if that helps Ive had the plants under the tarp for about 2 days now and plants still look the same. The soil is moist. I also have other plants that are indica dominant and seem to be handling the stress better. The one that is mainly curled up is obviously sativa dominant judging by the size and shape of the leaves. I will definitely try the bucket of water trick. Ive also been spraying the plants with ph'd water. this is my first grow and im learning a lot so far.

lol yea those little guys dont need to be up close and personal with a 600w lol

if your using a humidifier, maybe try setting it up in the room that the growspot is located and keep that room more humid ti should work better cuz the room is larger then the growspot.

so that air being brought in is more humid, rather then it being taken up to exhaust right away from inside the spot.

dont only have it on when the lights r on you need it constant.

20 is just way too low, if you get it up over 30 you'll be fine.

So the humidifier is in the room right under the tent now. Ive also set up some empty cups of water in the tent to help out as much as possible. I will also run the the humidy all the time. Heres a pic of the make shift green house that should keep more of the humidity in. Also set the exhaust at 80 instead of 75 I will definetly keep you all updated. P1010234.jpg

whats your humidity level at right now? possible cal mag deficenty is what i was going to guess, looks like praying for magnesium
