Intake vent with light trap

anyone got any ideas for me? i need to put one in the lower left corner of this sheet rocked wall. it needs to go on the outside. View attachment 115453 View attachment 115454
maybe a couple pieces of that black stretchy stuff they put over speakers?
Ive used that a couple times when making light traps that will still allow air to transfer through them....
Maybe a carbon filter? Even if you dont need it for the filtration, it would keep light from passing through it.:-|

got it. thank you everyone for all the ideas. i put them all together. :blsmoke:




i went with black PVC 4". i used a couple elbows to diminish light. i then stretched black pantyhose over the end and capped it with a cute little cap..........

for the exhaust i used the box my new fan came in. i flipped it over the top of the hole and secured and sealed it with tape and staples. then i cut a door in the side. i covered that with pantyhose and made the door adjustable........

ha ha never mind I guess panty hose would be more convent to use. glad to see ya got it worked out:peace:

I believe you may be looking for something like this unless I am confused about your question...

If you take a rectangular box (i used a shoe box) and cut one end off. On the other end poke holes in half (left or right side) of the box. Inside the box, about halfway in, insert something that will cover the holes, but be open on the half without holes for air to go around it and escape through the holes.
