Inside the Mind of Climate Denial

I haven't even been to a gas station this month, I think it's actually been about 30 days since the last gas station visit when I took my wife to a doctor appointment out of town. Who else posting in this thread can say that honestly right now? I'm honestly curious. It's not that I drive a hybrid or something, I have a 4 cylinder pickup with hippy bumper stickers taking up a lot of the tailgate. I just dont drive it much. So while your mad at me, are you also doing your part?
Conservation is always helpful.

You've already said my thinking is clearly muddled and therefore irrelevant but you asked a follow up question. So if we have a conversation are you hoping to just pepper it with insults the whole way or what's the game plan?
I'm happy if you want to stop talking now.

On the other hand, if you want to continue to spew misinformation I'll be glad to insult you for doing that.

Correcting your falsehoods with facts.

The climate science models used to predict global temperature rise do in fact account for everything you said they don't. They also account for the larger number of factors you are unaware of too.
So your doing jack shit. Thought so.

The only "falsehood" I spoke of is something you yourself say is account for in the model. I at no point said there is no such thing as climate change.. i at no point said humans are not doing harm to the world.
The only thing I said is that it's possible the sun plays a larger role in the temp of the planet than humans do, and regardless of the effect we cause, major or minor on temp, that we need to actively work to heal our world.

So I'm doing my part by conserving and consuming as little as possible.
I dont use a A/C even with its 100f, I'm fine to be nude in my house, I dont use a heater in winter, I'm fine to use blankets. I use a personal car as rarely as possible as noted a few posts up.
So again, what are you to doing for our cause, aside from talking shit online. Is there any action or only angry words?

Astonishingly obtuse. Is that why they're furiously lobbying to limit and even eliminate renewable energy?

They've seen the handwriting- in the form of double entry bookkeeping- that says renewables are already cheaper than installed fossil fuel based power generation, let alone nuclear.

They're fighting a rearguard action to protect their own investments and they don't care if the planet suffers.

That's the kind of amoral behavior that has cynically suckered you in. The sooner you recognize it, the better off you'll be.
The better off I will be? Remember when I said I pay 0.09 per kwh and asked what you pay and you glossed it? There is more to it than you're admitting in the form of infrastructure as @ginjawarrior already explained and everyone glossed over as well. Most people aren't aware of the size of solar array it would take to run a home or the cost involved in setting it up. Would you be all in on subsidizing that but have a problem subsidizing clean nuclear?

He put 33 panels in 11 years ago.
He has more than one mansion you know that right? And I bet those 33 panels don't offset one plane trip. In fact if we all just flew during daylight it would instantly cool the planet a few degrees but that's just an inconvenient truth.

This theory was advanced by the late Dr William Gray at the Colorado State University Atmospheric Sciences Department. He was the original author of the yearly hurricane forecast so his influence was substantial. He argued strongly that climate change was due to solar cycles and so his students did a great deal of work validating this thesis.

They proved the opposite.

No matter what the sun is doing- and it doesn't change much, or life on Earth wouldn't exist in the first place- atmospheric carbon dioxide will still affect temperatures here and therefore an increase in CO² will result in higher temperatures.

Weather and climate records are bearing this out in very close agreement with projections based on increased CO² emissions.

There's another factor that's recently become a more widely recognized influence on climate and that's the high and rising levels of methane emissions. These are coming from the fossil fuel industry, primarily fracking. They're also starting to come from methane hydrates and clathrates that are dissolving as tundra and oceans warm up.

This cannot be explained away by solar cycles:

Interesting you referred to the hit pieces on the fracking industry... which are funded by Russian special interest groups keen to halt our domestic LNG production.

The science is settled. If you want to behave like Trump and talk as if you didn't say what you what you said even though it's recorded just a few posts back, I can only stand in awe of how facile you people are. Anyway, here are your words quoted back to you:
I'm a member of a geological and fossils group on Facebook and many of them also believe climate change in the "al gore" terms is a lie. Yes there is climate change. Yes we are damaging the world. However the sun has a cycle, its understood, and we are entering a cold cycle... and before each cold cycle it get hotter.

Basically what I hear is that we do need to take better care of our environment, and we need to continue to put money into tech to clean the oceans as we are doing, however the sun is 99+ % of climate change and humans are 1-%
First correction of one of your falsehoods: the sun does have a cycle and that cycle is already built into the model. The record temperatures we are experience are not due to changes in the sun, they are due to humans burning fossil fuels in recent times.

Second correction of one of your falsehoods: 100% of the rapid temperature rise recorded over the past 100 or so years is due to CO2 and other greenhouse gasses released by human industrial activity.

Regarding how I live. My behavior is no different from yours. Except I don't even have AC and I only use my car on trips out of town which isn't all that often. I use my bicycle year round for commuting and errands around town. I don't expect others to adopt my lifestyle. I expect that government policy will be needed to wean people away from fossil fuels and it's going to be difficult. But I sure as hell am not going to talk as you do about how great I am. I am not all that green and from what you said, neither are you.

The fossil fuel industry uses the same bullshit arguments you did to cast doubt on the science behind global warming. If you really want to help, learn more and shut the fuck up with repeating fossil fuel lobbyists lies.

Dude it's so funny! You want to agree so much!
I never mentioned a model, even in your quote! In the "al gore" sence is a generalization in where I mean that most people who follow this do not even know about sun cycles. I sure never heard him mention them.

I never said i own a A/C (i dont lol)
I said i buy as little as possible, conserve, do all i can. Haven't bought any gas this month and I'm pretty sure the last time i did buy gas was on the 15th of last month. Seems pretty green to me.

You just want everyone to be wrong and your looking for people to hate by the look of it to me.

The contrails from planes reflect the sun's light during the day and hold in the earth' s heat at night. It is measurable.

Say fella, how many solar panels and wind turbines are you rocking? Given your stance on the issue I am sure your array is quite an impressive investment that you are proud of.

Plus in the other thread I'm talking about a dem candidate I believe can beat trump in 2020 so idk why your making the assumption im super right wing... unless, as I keep saying, it looks like your looking for people to hate.
