Inside a Tornado

This footage was taken less than a month ago by a meteorologist in Kansas. I'm all for watching tornadoes, but at the 1 minute mark I'd be hitting reverse real quick.

I'm assuming they must have somehow cabled the vehicle down, by the 2 minute mark it looks like the wizard of oz.

That's insane. I've been in triple digit winds before while in a vehicle, hiding in a *parking garage during hurricane Charlie.

But those folks were exposed, amazing the vehicle didn't become airborne.

You should see the twistex vehicle that the three chaser's died earlier this month! Oh my! I do not understand why we haven't done like they did for seismic activity and just remote sensored tornado alley. It's cheap enough to do now.

makes sense to me man. it still baffles me they rebuild those areas which get worst hit.

storm chasing seems like the stupidest pass time you could pick right up there with licking electricity pylons. anyone for a darwin award?

I was in the city parking garage in downtown Ft. Myers when Charlie came up the mouth of Charlotte harbor...these guys meanwhile were somewhere near Punta Gorda.

There's an island in the Canaries currently falling apart, when it goes so does half the eastern seaboard and southern Europe...with only 3 hours notice to evacuate:
