Yeah they work just fine, I had used one for along time to exhaust from my room, Just cut a hole and mounted it. Its going to be kind of a pain i would imagine to mount it in a grow tent.

How big is the tent? Looks like plug and play but you might need some 6" ducting depending on your setup.

You will want to get some 6" ducting and clamps as well, this will work fine for short distances depending on your room (size, watts) andyou don't plan on pulling through a carbon filter. but if you need to push air any distance or through a filter you will want there High Velocity fan.

6 inch ? can u go smaller ? for inconspicuous purposes because its a basement window and i dont want anyone seeing 6 inch duct out the window, so could u reduce it to 2 inch ?

Depending on your room size shrinking tha fan size down. you may want to get 2 of the 4" $20 each (one for air out and one for air in) or 1 High Velocity 4" $75. I don't believe a 2in is going to do much for you, I reccommnd getting an old AC window unit, gutting it, then vent through there ( I bet you could intergrate a Carbon filter into the Old Unit, My next project, lol) With the fake AC Unit you could stick to the six.

Thank you guys the ideas are genius, I have central air and a window air unit would be heat because my landlord will see, im just gonna set up multiplie layer of screens like drayden said. Thanks man.

so would i NEED ducting to vent outside...or can I just use that so it takes the heat out of the tent? if it helps I always keep my house really cold, like 69 degrees

actually...i have central air but use an ac unit for my room for when I sleep, because I like to sleep really cold, and why pay for cooling the whole house when I am only in one room for like 8 hours. So If you did want to use his idea, I'm sure if the landlord asked any questions that would get you off the hook. Or also If you dont live alone, say you like your room colder than the rest of the family.

Based on what you said in your other thread, about it being 39x39 room, Those fans won't work.

Part of moving air is also to control heat, weather you're using it to cool a sealed reflector, or just to rotate air in a grow space.

Those fans say that they are 160 cfm or whatever...its bullshit, they aren't, they're just booster fans, so if you had a part of your house that was always cold in the winter, hot in the summer, because it was on the far end of the furnace or ac, this fan would be installed at some point to give the air a little more push.

Are you kidding? These things are junk. The little toy fans with the candy in them my kid grabs in the check-out line have a higher cfm rating than these coffee can fans.

I own one too.
