I went to home hardware yesterday with my buddy to get supplies to make a respirator bong which we eneded up getting more high on glue than weed with. But in the process i bought a 250w infrared heat lamp, i have only found one socket hardwired that can even take the power of this bulb and it looked like a hps light

this is the light, any insight would be helpful

I just got about 20 infared bulbs and fixtures for free. (Barbershop garbage)

Also interested if these would assist in flowering. They put off a really nice red spectrum but they do put off a lot of heat.

Anybody do an experiment?

Sounds more like a way to cook your plants. My unofficial opinion is that you'd be better off with warm spectrum cfls

that should tell ya' right there. It'll keep your burgers warm thru the day, but it'll cook any plants you may have. use cfl's, regular tubed flourescents if nothing else.
