Indoor Tomatoes with Fox Farm

I'm about to finish my first crop of marijuana and plan on going with tomatoes right after that. I will probably just purchase seedlings/whatever so I don't have to wait as long.

I have fox farm Ocean Forest, regular perlite, and the Fox Farm Trio of Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, and Big Bloom.

Would I only need to use the Grow Big for the tomatoes? I really don't know much about growing tomatoes but I hear that of all plants, tomatoes can be grown most similarly to marijuana.

If anyone could point me to a good riu thread on growing tomatoes indoors that could be helpful too!

Haha it seems learning this could be tougher than marijuana sometimes. Indoor pollination, they don't go by light schedule to flower I don't think, do they need 'flower' nutes or just veg? ack!

tomatoes are ez. just need water and light. you'll need to shake or have a good fan on them to get tomatoes

I have several variety's growing right now. Both in hydro and FF Ocean.
They all are doing really well. As noted I give hem a shake a few times a day to help with pollinating.
They have light 18 hours a day. In darkness 8. They grow amazingly fast.

So if I purchase a small tomato plant and transplant it into a good sized pot (say 2 gallons or more) of ocean forest that it won't need any extra nutes applied? So all I would have to do is make sure I don't give them too much water? Does feeding them molasses with water help at all? I also have superthrive.

It might get a bit of nute burn for a bit. But it should live through it and be just fine.
I have done both seeds and transplants in FF ocean. They all seem to like it and take to it very well.

wow ffof for tomatoes ... is that organic? can i grow tomatoes right next to my bud? lol.

You'll need nutes at some point. Once they get going they will need more.

Well that's the kicker isn't it?
I did have a tomato plant in my hydro unit right next to my white widow.
The tomato plant started looking a bit on the sick side. SO I removed it and it is now on its own and doing great.
I have no idea if it was a fluke or they really didn't agree with each other.
The tomato roots were 2 times the amount of the MJ plant roots. I have since put in a Afgoo plant with the WW and its doing great.

So 18/6 veg 12/12 flower just like MJ? Im gonna use FFoF as well as its so nute rich and I want BIG tomatoes. Something that would be almost competition worthy. I read cutting side growth will increase the mass of flowering tomatoes. I think the soil would guarantee a more natural taste as well but that's secondary to my objective.

Will LED be good for them?

Tomatoes are not photo sensitive they flower based on maturity so there is no need to go 12/12 to induce flowering. They will begin to flower when they're ready.
